LISTEN UP. Retrospec can read this all they like, I don't care. their cameras were trained on me the entire time I combed through their office anyway. they INVITED me there. so here I am, putting my findings out here so that all users can access it. you can respond helpfully, or cower behind your phones in silence, and to what end? Retrospec already knows about your precious secrets. or have you gnats forgotten that already??
respond if you know any of the following names:
Dante Sparda
Irene Greenland
Machi Tobaye
Jyushimatsu Ono
Matt Miller
give me evidence that you know them, and we can talk more. don't waste my time with "OOOH I MET THEM ONCE"s if there's no substance. a single detail about their history will suffice as proof.
and since I expect the lot of you to share any information you find in the future, in this fashion... what the REST of you need to know is that I found files on these people in an unlocked room in the Retrospec building. apparently some of these people were once Retrospec users, but for some reason they're not anymore. (you can extend your gratitude to Dave for sorting through all of your nonsense to locate posts by these people.) these files documented their personal histories. DETAILED, by the way. are they accurate? that's what I'm trying to figure out.
ohhh right: the note pictured was clipped only to that file. make of this what you will.

what does his file say, anyways? anything that might be out of the ordinary?

I shared Miller's file with Dave already, so I guess there's no harm in sharing again. my abridged version of it. the original is paragraphs long, so: he was adopted and attended private school until he was thrust into public school by his parents, who figured the public experience might do him well (the document says this, I inferred nothing). disagreed with his strict parents and had a bit of an attitude as a teen. had an interest in tech, so his parents put him in online classes until he moved here and enrolled in RU. that's where they say he SHOULD be, so that's where I'd look for him. it says he's studying video production/graphic design. he has a hand in a paranormal show called "Poulterguys", which I could care less about.
nothing abnormal to me.

if they were collecting info on us you'd expect it to be facts, things that can be observed and verified. there are only two ways for them to be able to say that his parents "figured the public experience might do him well"
either they're really bad at their jobs, which would definitely fit in with what you said about having this employee rewrite it, or if we wanna pull the tinfoil back out again, they've been watching us for a lot longer than any of us would have figured
personally i'd hope it's the former but i'm suspicious enough of this company that i'm not willing to write anything off as impossible yet
i know a guy studying photography at ru, i'll ask him if he's heard of this matt guy

did your phone spew your secrets this past week, too? like it did for plenty of others? what about secrets involving FEELINGS you have? tell me: if you're somebody who never tells a SOUL about your secrets, not even to your own mother, who do you suppose collected THAT data? and how?
would it be so far-fetched to link the understanding of more than just observable facts about a person's history, to the fact that our secrets are known by somebody out there that publicized it over our devices? surely you see this connection.
no subject
but if what you're saying is true and they were spewing stuff about people's feelings...
i can't say i like where you're going with this
no subject
the point is, whether we're being watched or having our histories thoroughly checked.. it's too much to be just observations.
no subject
but i get your point
you think they're responsible for these weird flashes we've been happening. whether they're hallucinations or memories... it's just as weird as a social media app somehow knowing our deepest secrets and our emotions when they shouldn't, right?
no subject
that's what I'm suggesting, yes.. ever since we got this app things have been strange. our "hallucinomemories" are just one of those oddities, and there's a connection to draw between those and some entity's awareness of our deeper, unspoken secrets. all of this started with the introduction of the app!
what I'm safely assuming for now is that Retrospec knows ALL of our personal histories as we know them. BUT.. there's no indication that they know about whatever we hallucinate/recall/WHATEVER. why do they know and for what purpose, is the question. that's what I'm asking.
*we've been HAVING wow nice job me
that sounds like a safe assumption to me, too. they know our histories and apparently what people in our lives were thinking and our secrets... almost like they can see inside our heads and pick out whatever they want
you can't be suggesting that they're able to read our minds
[This is stupid. Everything about this is stupid. There isn't any such thing as an omniscient, especially not a handful of them that are for some reason interested in screwing with a bunch of people in a single city--right?
And then he thinks of what he's already remembered. Strange monsters, fighting them--fighting them, he thinks, realizing suddenly he's had one more recollection that he didn't recognize at the time--is the idea of a mind-reader that far out there...?]
so let's say that they CAN read our minds somehow, and that's not a totally insane idea to even consider in the first place
maybe they picked us for this network because they knew we'd get these flashes
maybe there's something in our minds that marks us as able to get them?
[WHY IS HE EVEN ENTERTAINING THESE SORTS OF CONSPIRACY THEORIES there's no way that could be true!]
I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE, you're safe 1/2
no subject
IF Retrospec was full of mind-readers, IF they selected us because we'd get the "flashes"... to what end? WHY BOTHER? what do they want out of us getting the flashes?? these are incongruities. I don't see what gain there is out of these flashes we're experiencing, especially if they're not privy to them.
no subject
anyways, i don't know what they'd get out of it. not yet. we don't have enough information
no subject
in other words, that's why I was willing to entertain your ridiculous, reaching thought. there's no certainty, not yet.
no subject
mine they only could've known if they were there with me the moment it happened, and i know for a FACT i was alone or i would've been busted, big time
so we're at a standstill for now
no subject
but that's what I said, yes, and that's what I meant. but it's still the only somewhat passable realistic scenario I can come up with. not that I buy it, since it still fails to address things like knowing the unknowable. standstill it is.
no subject
anyways if you find out anything else let me know
i'll do the same and clue you in too
no subject
we have a deal, then.
