I'll keep this short and to the point to give you guys time to strategize, catch up, all of that. Congrats on your Magatus missions. Looks like everything's been cleared out as best as we can, but the region's been evacuated thanks to a couple of factors. The new problem is we just added a bunch of people to city limits. I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news: need some people out in Pesgare to do some deepdiving and recovery. It doesn't look like there's anything out there that'll kill you, but I need something from down there to stabilize Recollé itself. Good news: got the subway working. Did you know it was just about coding? That's a little crazy to me and okay, I might have found out on accident, but…whatever was blocking exits from the city was just a false creation. It means getting out of here and checking out the progress outside. The trains will be ready for departure in about a week, I'll get some maps drawn up and everything. I could really use some of you on location scouting. Finally…who knows about machinery? We've got a problem we should probably look into, but keeping track of that eye's a huge pain in the ass. Discuss, get in touch with me, prepare. You know the drill. Zee Carlisle Hiring Manager Retr ![]()

Cool. I can handle this.
The only brochures I snagged were for Niihama and a place called Eos, but I don't think there's anyone left on the network from that world. Would the connection still exist?

They're scooping up souls from who knows where in time and space, so I don't think it's too much of a stretch of the imagination? We've portaled to the 6th layer and various pocket worlds in the last few months. If all Vanderweele did was make it look like the tunnels were blocked, then all of the infrastructure will still be there.
We won't know if we don't look.

The pocket worlds, I could understand. I don't know why, but I'm having such a harder time wrapping my head around this one. That. Another version of Earth, treated just like another planet in our solar system?

Who says it has to be another Earth? There was this sci-fi movie I saw once. Took the whole 'the pyramids were built by aliens' and ran with it. And there were these portals, where you could basically dial up a different planet like making a phone call. Walk through the portal and BOOM, on a different planet completely.

That's true... jumping realities or timelines... alternate universes... Why so many Earths?
no subject
Why so many Earths? If there are so many possibilities out there, then why are so many of us from so similar worlds? Hell, you and I both recognize landmarks in the Japans we're both remembering! That's really similar, for all the range that should be out there.
Or. Why so few Earths? Shouldn't all of us be remembering coming from Earth if we're all here now?

Maybe there's an association somewhere, even if the planet isn't called 'Earth.' Or maybe it's all just random as hell. I'm kind of curious now, how many people come from an Earth and how many don't.

But if the connections to every world are still open? Cross your fingers for the track switch taking us to the land of the Chocobos.

Would you take Isamu there?
[because Tatsuo would love to see that]

Though, should probably be careful he doesn't try to bring one home.

This raises an interesting question though. What if he one day wants to adopt a pet?

Guess it's like your kid asking for a puppy.

[why are mini-tanks with advanced AIs so complicated]
no subject
They’re protective, though! I cam guarantee that much. Anybody would be safe with them.

Well, even in humans we tend to think of mental development as mostly separate from physical development, even though there's a physical aspect to brain development. Whereas with Isamu it's all digital, the development of his programming. But yeah, it is kind of odd to think about the fact he's actually growing in a way.
Just about anyone would feel safe with a mini-tank the size of a small car with the personality of a curious child.
