I'll keep this short and to the point to give you guys time to strategize, catch up, all of that.

Congrats on your Magatus missions. Looks like everything's been cleared out as best as we can, but the region's been evacuated thanks to a couple of factors.

The new problem is we just added a bunch of people to city limits.

I've got some good news and some bad news.

Bad news: need some people out in Pesgare to do some deepdiving and recovery. It doesn't look like there's anything out there that'll kill you, but I need something from down there to stabilize Recollé itself.

Good news: got the subway working. Did you know it was just about coding? That's a little crazy to me and okay, I might have found out on accident, but…whatever was blocking exits from the city was just a false creation.

It means getting out of here and checking out the progress outside. The trains will be ready for departure in about a week, I'll get some maps drawn up and everything. I could really use some of you on location scouting.

Finally…who knows about machinery? We've got a problem we should probably look into, but keeping track of that eye's a huge pain in the ass.

Discuss, get in touch with me, prepare. You know the drill.

It’s also a matter of separating that other person out, though. For you, you think it’s better if the both of you dont enter that world. For some people, the person we’re remembering needs their life back, but we want to also keep ours. That’s the harder part.

We're the same person. That's the point.

But what if they could be split apart again? Call it a hypothetical. Would you want to stay saddled with this man you think his world would be better off without?

Let me posit it to you this way:

If you could separate yourself from the person you were ten years ago, would you be able to simply discard the resulting individual and claim they had nothing to do with you? You technically aren't them anymore, and haven't been them for some time. Would it be easy for you to just claim them to be someone else entirely?

The same man I was ten years ago? No. I can't just split it off. But in this instance, that man made very different choices than I did. Had very different experiences than me, experiences that I never even had the opportunity to have.

I'm looking for a way to validate both his choices and mine.

The choices made back then are what they are. it's neither our job nor our place to validate them; that right isn't precisely ours.

Not our job, but it's what Retrospec is doing. Putting their lives back into existence. If you want the option to restore the world but not the man, then we can't just go with the flow of Retrospec's first plan.

I'm not arguing that the man shouldn't be restored, but rather that he already has been, in my case.

Oh.

Wait.

That, no matter what he is a part of.. your past? Of this you's past?

That's how I choose to see him.

I understand that it's not for everyone, and that people like their separation. That's fine. But I personally can't keep that sort of distance from it anymore. If we have the same soul, as is being claimed by Retrospec, then I don't see why he isn't part of my past as well.

You're all right with taking on the burdens of someone who made different choices than you? When it sounds like you wouldn't have made those choices, yourself?

I can't- let myself glorify in his successes.

If you could just put him down, all of him? Would you do it?
