What's up, users! We've mostly fixed the technical problems we were having earlier (unless Danny missed something again) but you might want to wear green. Also, I'm supposed to make a vague and mysterious informational post here but that sounded boring so I made a video presentation instead!

Cheers!

As of this post all apples, oranges, lemons, and limes have been replaced in-universe as the silly dancing fruits shown above. This means that as with Chocobos all NPCs will insist this is how things have always been and history/movies/etc will back them up.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day characters will find a request from Retrospec to upload a picture of themselves to the network in which they are wearing something green. They will find themselves shocked lightly by their device if they try to use it without complying. Rude?

A non-triggered memory regain can be earned through participation in this post in honor of Lucy's birthday the holiday with proof of a single thread with at least five comments from your character. If you plan to redeem this, please submit it to our regains page with the explanation of "March freebie". This must be submitted before April to be valid! Regardless of whether or not a character earns the freebie, all characters will find a gold coin with the Retrospec logo on one side and a Chocobo on the other. On the outside edge of the coin they will find "Jim, put a meaningful quote here. - Janet" engraved in a beautiful font. The Chocobo will morph into a horse should your character obtain the memory regain from the event; it will stay a Chocobo if your character does not obtain the memory regain.

Please see our OOC information post HERE for some information and reminders - you can direct any questions about this post there!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

yes, take a rest and calm down!
even with prior knowledge, i don't think i can ever prepare myself enough to peel smiling fruit
(´Д` ;)

YEAH I'LL...DO THAT...thank you ryoji (´;д;`)

yes, lord. i mean i guess you could try making them face the other way first...uh but you'll need to turn them around for peeling anyway so nevermind.

aaaat least...bananas and strawberries seem to be safe? i checked my fridge and they weren't staring at me, so that's a good sign right.

with oranges at least, you can make a single slit and peel it without turning it all the way around, like how dresses unzip from the back
i'm happy about the other fruit being unaffected, but i also really loved oranges... (´• - •̥`)

good point!
it might also be easier to peel lemons and limes without looking at their faces...

ahhh yeah, i really liked apples too (´;ω;`)

maybe we'll luck out...and get used to it enough to eat them again????

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-03-18 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
you can eat... half an apple... without worrying about its face
if that's any consolation
things with faces are hard to eat in general, i'm not sure if i can get used to it very easily...
but i think we'll be able to!
have you seen the bunny buns at Black Lion? if people can enjoy these, i'm sure they'll get used to apples in no time

t-true! half an apple is better than none
oh gosh, i actually haven't seen them before. they are quite cute!
i think it's the fact these fruit seem...semi-sentient, that bothers me more than that they have faces. but, it's better to stay positive about things like this, i suppose. humanity can get used to the strangest of things.

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-03-18 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
i believe in humanity too! i'm sure the first person to eat rabbit had the same uncertainties, but things like such gain acceptance over time
...a long time, perhaps
i might stick to apple pies and orange marmalade from now on

that sounds like a plan
we can pretend they never had faces to begin with when they're already...another product

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-03-19 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
yes! plan Ignorance Is Bliss is in action!
i've turned around all the fruit in the apartment and that made ignoring the bouncing much more doable

i put all the fruit that was sitting out inside the fridge
i can't really hear them even within the kitchen, so i think that's good?

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-03-22 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
what? no, that's no good! don't you open the fridge every day?
rosebleue: (11)

[personal profile] rosebleue 2017-03-23 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
ah, no worries! i put them inside the fridge drawers so i won't like, immediately see their faces every time i open it?
i also thought my flatmate would find it weird if i tried hiding the fruit elsewhere... they're under the impression fruit have always been this way

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-03-23 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
oh, that's good
i know it's supposed to be "normal" but i can't help but be in awe of your flatmate for being able to find it so
