one | he should have remembered that procrastination is not his friend
[ooc: Guess whose niece is coming tomorrow? His. Guess who puts off shopping and redecorating to the last possible moment? This guy. Also don't let him at things that are basically giant model kits.]

SOmeone please tell me I can move this through a door. I can't take it apart.

But I already built it and everything...
I even used a level and made sure all the joints were secure
[He doesn't want to take it apart is the real problem here. Not just plain laziness but the fact that he's proud of the way it looks and isn't sure he'd be able to keep it looking this good if he takes it apart.]

is there a way it can stay where it is?
no subject
I'm guessing no
no subject
did you build it in the living room?
oh my god.
no subject
I don't know
It seemed like a good idea when I was doing it
I was just putting it together to see if all the parts were there and then I kind of got carried away

this is the way i see it. you have two choices:
either she sleeps in the living room, or you dismantle the bed. it won't fit through a standard door, and even if it could, it'd be so difficult to carry that whoever was moving it would be risking serious injury.
no subject
I'll dismantle it.
I don't want Yuri to spend her first day here sleeping in the living room...it's not fair to her. Not when she's already having to go so far.
no subject
it's a pain in the ass, but it'll work out. i'm sure she'll appreciate it.
no subject
I know it will
I really wanted her to like it and it's more important that she's happy, right?
no subject
but her happiness is important too.
no subject
yeah
I probably shouldn't get hurt. That makes sense.
Thanks, by the way.

it won't be as difficult to reassemble it a second time around,
since you've got experience under your belt.

Now I'm almost wondering if they make miniature kits for beds.

What kind of hobbies do you have then?
no subject
and um, i used to build robots. don't know if i'd call that a "hobby," though.
no subject
healthy?? Do you really like nature then?
AND DID YOU SAY ROBOTS
That's cool! Did you build fighting robots?!
no subject
i never built fighting robots. practical things...for the most part. once i programmed an rc car to operate itself.
no subject
That's still cool though! It sounds like it must have been difficult.
no subject
uh. ok maybe it was kind of difficult
a fighting robot would be a little easier if it were radio controlled.
i don't know about an autonomous one. it's possible, of course. sticking to toys for something like that is safer. a giant, self-thinking combat machine would be a bad idea on all sides.
now i'm thinking about trying this. the smaller, kid-friendly version,
that is
no subject
A tiny one would be nice though. And fighting robots are always pretty popular with kids right? I liked them back when I was a kid too.
no subject
but i'll give it a shot. it should be fun to try, at least. i need to practice anyway.
i've gotten rusty.

Show me when you're done, okay?
