Hey, Users! This month's wikihow is right over here. In other news, don't you just love our logo colors? Such a nice shade of blue. I'm pretty fond of it myself! You know, Janet has blue eyes. But then, I guess you guys don't know anyone with eyes that color anymore, right? Whoops. Anyway, see you next month! Well, some of you anyway. :) Jim Halloway Research & Development Retr ![]() As discussed on the monthly plot post the colors blue and green are now gray - except for the blue on the retrospec application logo and their building sign, although no NPC will be capable of seeing the color in these places. As stated in the plot post, NPCs will also seem to be completely unaware that the colors blue and green ever existed. Oops.
Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Last's month's application round characters are now capable of changing their profile pictures. |

[This is the network, so he's going to carefully not mention that he and Kiyomitsu tried breaking in to the Retrospec building to find Jim and stab him in the back of the leg...]
he's wrong anyways, my eyes are still blue
at least, that weird brighter color they turned a couple months ago

Hitori Tougsa But you're also immune, what? How can that be?

jim's a fuck-up, that's all
he got my hair instead

Hitori Togusa Scary, but you can rock it.
Hitori Togusa Back on your original point, though, of course they need to know what came before and after every change.
no subject
[By now, Togusa's probably had enough interactions with Dante that he can imagine the dry tone and smirk.]
you're giving them more credit than i was, i just think they're laughing at our frustration
no subject
Hitori Togusa But also nobody's going in or out of that building. The price they pay for their detachment is literal detachment. They're all staying in there playing god.
no subject
and you mean nobody's going in and out of that building that we KNOW of yet
[This is why he was asking questions about those blueprints last month! But Dante's not going to elaborate here; after his attempt to call out the network last month it seems he's back to being at least a little bit cagey about putting information out where they can read it so easily.]
i've been in their building a few times now and there's never been any indication of food or running water. so unless they're not human they've got to leave SOMETIME
no subject
[Right, Dante had been trying to get beneath the building when they went through the subway. It's probably a good idea.]
Either it's 100% self-sustaining, which is weird in and of itself. Or, someone else pointed out, that building is just the server housing and the actual employees could be working remotely.
no subject
if that's the case, it's really weird though
another person from the network and i spent the night in the retrospec building in april to see if we could catch any employees coming or going and it was like they were TRYING to convince us that people were there
the elevator was lighting up like it was going to different floors, even if it wouldn't ever come down to the ground floor, and we heard muffled voices talking
i'm pretty sure that was some sort of loop though, there was a loud yell that was a part of it that we'd hear every once in a while

That's. You ever seen one of those shell games? The balls and the cups, the guy switches them around, you guess which cup the ball is under? Surprise, the ball will be under none of them. The game is in getting you to assume the game as presented is valid and getting you to pick one of the cups at all.
So why give us any options to be right when they can give us none?
no subject
i figured they were screwing with us again
but they messed up. they gave me a little bit of information they probably weren't thinking about
[It's tiny. Minuscule, really. But in his eyes, it's also a victory.]
they proved that they care about what we think is going on in there AND they proved that they've been keeping tabs on who's gone into the building and who hasn't
apparently those of us choosing to question them too often are on some sort of blacklist
no subject
Also, how can I get at the top of that list?
no subject
and i do mean THROWING
you said it yourself, i've got a gift
no subject
WOW, Dante. You got a BUILDING so mad at you it took a swing at you.
On one hand, good job getting us some information. On the other, you might be the reason they beefed up security. So, call it a tie?
no subject
hey that wasn't the first time it tried, i could show you a video of a few of us getting ejected from a stairwell as they got increasingly pissed off
besides, i'm not the only one that's been going in, i could probably come up with ten people off the top of my head that's been in and out too
call it a 68% win, weight it my way at least
no subject
Even though Jim is trying to hard to go for your championship. Any idea what your next bout is going to be, then?
[Because TRY to tell Togusa that you're not going to try this shit again.]
no subject
i don't know, their doors were shut tight last month to keep people like me out on the street
i just might have to throw in the towel, they've taken away my only trick
no subject
But seriously don't go in there alone again, okay? I know better than to think any of us are going to stop beating our heads against this wall, but so long as you let someone else know what you're doing in case you don't come back?
no subject
[A pause.]
yeah, i can do that
i've already done it a couple times for other stuff, i can do it for anything retrospec-related too i guess
no subject
I look forward to see the results.
