Just a couple of things.

-I'm turning 25 on Monday and it seems like the kind of thing you should do something for. I was going to invite people to the pool until some things happened, but now I don't want to, so. I'm going to be at the Inkwell and will accept all birthday congratulations, gifts, and complaints about how grey water is super weird.

Anyone can come, it's not like I run the bar. Unless you're that guy that threatened me, you have to stay at least ten feet away from me at all times.

[Water being grey now is not actually why the pool party is being called off, but it makes an excellent excuse.]

-Does anyone have any advice about explaining your sudden changes in behavior to people who know you really well but don't know what's going on with Retrospec? I can't not talk to my parents.

No thanks. I'm not a literary purist, so I'm not going to argue that that book was terrible because it deviated from what vampires 'should' be. I'll argue that it was terrible for other reasons.

Romanticizing unhealthy behavior in a guy that teenage girls across the country started swooning over.

I'm pretty sure he broke her car at one point to 'protect' her. And watched her sleep. What the fuck.

Jim would watch Janet sleep and then tell the whole network how cute she is when she's asleep, like that's not creepy at all.

like what if she's one of the many fans of creepy romance??

I don't think you should have to track down everywhere your creepy boyfriend/not-boyfriend is talking about you and put up a disclaimer that you're not into that. That puts too much blame on the victim for not calling him out 100% of the time when it's squarely the creepy guy's fault.
