Just a couple of things.

-I'm turning 25 on Monday and it seems like the kind of thing you should do something for. I was going to invite people to the pool until some things happened, but now I don't want to, so. I'm going to be at the Inkwell and will accept all birthday congratulations, gifts, and complaints about how grey water is super weird.

Anyone can come, it's not like I run the bar. Unless you're that guy that threatened me, you have to stay at least ten feet away from me at all times.

[Water being grey now is not actually why the pool party is being called off, but it makes an excellent excuse.]

-Does anyone have any advice about explaining your sudden changes in behavior to people who know you really well but don't know what's going on with Retrospec? I can't not talk to my parents.

Not all of them. You're right. And I'm not sure I want to think about whether my friendships would be worth trading for peace of mind.

it's a hard decision to make. I don't think I'd be able to trade meeting my brother for anything...

but it's been pretty hard on people too.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you only meet your brother here?

something happened between my parents and I never knew my father growing up. I only learned later that I had a brother but I never thought I'd meet him.

I didn't even recognize him at first. I thought I just met someone with the same name as him.

[In retrospect it was silly. But at the time it had seemed perfectly reasonable.]

I'm glad you got to meet. I'm an only child, but I think I'd miss my siblings if we were separated, even if I didn't know them.

[Just don't do anything silly like try to get your parents back together in a heartwarming tale of family love.]

I used to day dream a lot about what sort of person he'd be, especially when I'd just moved to someplace new. But I never thought seriously about meeting him.

[Luckily her mom is in a coma so that's not likely to happen.]

What kind of person is he actually?

he's really kind! And tall! And he's really cool too! And he thinks President is cute!

[Which is not very coherent at all.]

It's been amazing, being able to meet him. Even though I don't really know him well yet, I'm so happy to have him in my life right now.

If he didn't think President was cute, I personally would've disowned him then and there.
