Maurice was going to do this, but Maurice sucks so I sent him home before he could. Anyway, some of you may have noticed our new poll feature! We just don't have the time and resources to cater to all your "where is x item, what the fuck" complaints, so we had to streamline. The polls were the result of that! Coded them myself. I mean, Maurice did some of it, but I did most of it. So basically we're democratically crowd-sourcing what we're going to bother to fix for you! You can send thank you notes to the building, HR doesn't mind. So far it seems like you all care about the color blue most, so we fixed it! A little, anyway. I suggest a bracing walk through the woods if you particularly missed the color and don't feel like gazing deeply into a hobo's eyes. You've all been reading up on QR codes, right? You might also want to learn to start a fire. Just a tip. Jim Halloway Research & Development Retr ![]() As per the World Regains tracker, fruits and flowers that were once blue are once again blue. This includes the echo flowers in the Recollé woods! NPCs seem to be incapable of seeing this color still, however, and will not note any differences. The color does not seem capable of being transferred to anything else, either, and any attempts to do so will simply fade the color of the thing you were trying to use to do that. Furthermore, one thread of at least 10 comments from you from this post may be supplied for one untriggered memory by linking the thread and in explanation putting "June Freebie". This may only be claimed through the rest of June, and may not be claimed after the month ends.
Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. |

I'm wondering if we can transfer the colour blue to other things like paper or our clothes. I was thinking we could get some blueberries, mash them up, and then smear them among things to see if the blue will carry over.

Lets see if we can paint with it
[IT SURE WOULD BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO USE THE COLOR BLUE AGAIN.]

[ They can be the Blue Man Group but with just two of them instead of three ]

Well see

[There's the one his grandmother uses of course, splashed in stray flecks of paint everywhere, as well as a much less worn one he's used for what seems like all his life. There's plenty of canvas available, and he'll go ahead and get a mid-sized one, already primed and ready to go. Thankfully, this is a house where there is no shortage of art supplies at any given time.]

And the door, too. He's got that, opening it up and nodding in the direction they'll want to go once Souji's removed his shoes.]
Grandma isn't painting right now, so we can use the studio.
[Said studio is actually quite neat. There are certainly tools and furniture with errant splashes of paint, but the paints are all set out in an orderly fashion through the color wheel, and various half-finished pieces are set aside, some containing only washes of backgrounds and others just starting to carve out details from the shadowy blobs set in the foreground.
Tatsuma will use this time to find a good brush. He's not planning on anything too complicated here, so a good, basic brush should do.]

Do you think this is enough? Do we need to water it down?
no subject
Mm... It'll be enough to test. [Which is the main point of all this in the end.] I'll try watering down a little. I've never used berries before.
[Certainly there are artists who stick to using only natural materials - he's seen a few of those submissions in the gallery before. But his grandmother's always stuck with oil paints as far as he knows.
He rifles through the art supplies they have on hand, digging up an old plastic tray with circular indents for paint that he distinctly remembers using when he was little. There's some old, cracked watercolors back there along with it, yellows stained brown from clumsy hands that didn't realize at the time how easily the colors could end up mixing.
The tray, he'll hand over to Souji thoughtfully.]
I think... if one's full of juice and one's half, we can water down the second one.
[Care to get them started?]
no subject
[ Souji takes the tray with a nod. He can do this. He'll place the tray on the stool so he can start carefully squeezing out each blueberry out of its skin. They'll have two nice little piles of weird looking blobs by the time Souji finishes one tiny basket. Since he doesn't really have, well, an instrument of some kind, he just squishes everything with a thumb. He'll need to find something to wipe that off with but with his cleaner hand, he'll hold out the tray. ]
How's that?
no subject
Mm, I think that'll work.
[Time to give it a try! He dips the brush in, pausing a bit when he draws it out.]
...Looks kind of red.
[......Is blueberry juice... not actually blue...?
Nope.]
no subject
... at least it's not grey?
[ How did these teenagers mess up something like this? ]
no subject
Still, he's curious now, so he'll go ahead and try painting a line with it anyway. It's... super watery, already beginning to drip save for the random clumps because these boys don't know how to juice fruit for paint.
Also, it's definitely more of a wine color. Oops!]
no subject
[ He stands then to Tatsuma, watching him attempt to paint with the blueberries and failing. ]
... Well, you have to give us an A for effort.
[ He looks back at the blueberries on the tray and both the bag full of them. ]
What do we do with all these now?
no subject
Eat them?
[This is prior to the Souji tips, so we can still do this without invoking The Joke.]
no subject
We could. [ Souji cups his chin as he thinks. ] I could also bake something out of them so it's a little more filling. Maybe blueberry pie?
no subject
[Whoa... That's a useful skill.]
no subject
[ That what happens when you're left to fend for yourself. ]
I can even make a strawberry pie for you.
no subject
Souji you are truly the best.]
We should have all the ingredients. [Grandma is a baking fiend after all, and of course she bakes strawberry things all the time too.]
Over here.
[And he'll go ahead and lead the way to the kitchen, bringing the brush with him to wash off while he's there. It's a rather nice kitchen, with a glass stovetop and all sorts of cooking implements to make things even easier, and all ingredients are stored in kitschy ceramic containers that are clearly labelled for convenience.]
Anything I can do to help?
