Penelope Raban
6/24 near Apprassage
Hello everyone,
I've got a question for everyone. This is something I've been thinking about for a few weeks now, and I'd like to get your opinions on it, as well as possibly some advice.
I know a lot of us have been having those wild hallucinomemories lately, and whoever came up with that word is brilliant. And I know a lot of us have been struggling with them because some of them are outright terrifying. What I want to know is if you saw someone that you knew in your hallucinomemories doing something that scared you, or made you afraid, would that affect how you view them here in Recolle? Is this who they were, who they are, or who they will be again, basically. I know that's a pretty weird question, but I'm not really sure how I feel and it got pretty real for me recently.
Any thoughts are appreciated, seriously.
Cheers,
Pen.

Goro Majima Right now, in the present. Regardless of what they did before or what they'll do again.
Goro Majima If someone is trying to do right, even for a little while? That's important.

Penelope Raban And if it is, isn't it possible that their other side might come back and hurt you?

It doesn't seem reasonable to insist that no one be affected by their hallucinomemories in terms of how they imagine others or even themselves.
The experiences are as vivid as a flashback and probably just as capable of throwing a mindset back.
Flip it turnways, though, and that person doesn't necessarily bear the same responsibility for their actions in the hallucinomemory as would the person they were in the thing.
They're undeniably connected to that person, but they're also their own unique iteration and are coming from different experiences and choices.
They're connected, likely overlapping, but they aren't the same.
no subject
And you think so? That's a good way to put it. Overlapping, and capable of throwbacks. I've felt since the beginning that the two people were tied together and connected, but not necessarily the same. Only reason this is even up for debate for me is I remember someone trying to kill me. That seems reasonable to freak out about. Just a little.

Personally, the most I've been able to decide is that it's certainly who we were, if it's truly connected at all. I've had such a sense of mental disconnect from the things I've been supposedly "remembering" that the only conclusion I can draw is that it's our choices now that ought to matter and be considered relevant.

I'm not saying that it changes who you are now, but my concern is that might change in the future. This feels just like the beginning.

I don't just want to emulate the bad stuff.
But if I remembered someone I know doing something bad, I would talk to them about it.

The only reason I haven't is I'm still processing.
This person tried to kill me. That's why I'm being careful.

some of them might see some shit from these hallucinations and go
damn that's cool sounds like my ideal villain origin story i'll stab a guy now
or others might freak out and decide that the person they see isn't them
for whatever reason
and i don't see the point in judging someone for who they aren't even confirmed to be
so if i saw someone doing something crazy even in a hallucination
it doesn't matter to me

Even if they were trying to kill you?

i'm still not 100% sold on the idea those hallucinomomowhatevers actually happened
so it'd be kinda silly to judge people by that
though i guess you can always punch them in the face to get it out of your system if it bothers you so much
no subject
I can't reach this person's face without a footstool.
And I wouldn't even sweat it if it hadn't been for a previous memory.
The people in my memories are really, really dangerous people.

it depends on how well you know that person
like if i saw minako doing something bad i dont know that id believe it
but if it was someone i dont know as good it might affect me more
idk
no subject
They're important to me, but I an believe that they'd be harsh.
Minako doing anything that isn't rainbows and sunshine though, I'd doubt as surely as I do the sanity of Anti-Vaxxers. :3

I think it would be extremely difficult to not think differently of them depending on what the memory is about. Or how drastic it would be.
I'd like to say that it wouldn't, and it shouldn't. Those memories could be from past lives or whatever you want to believe, but they don't define who we are here and now.
I'm sorry for what it's worth though. Dealing with that.
no subject
But it's really confusing.
It's just hard to get past someone threatening to kill you.

Soujirou Katsuki I mean, I know I'm not that kind of person, and I honestly can't see how I ever could be.
Soujirou Katsuki but then again,
I understand why someone might be frightened...

Nui Harime serious question:how do you feel after you have a 🛌 dream about a friend?
Nui Harime cause i always wake up feeling kinda weird about it
Nui Harime like, do i tell them about it? does it mean we have unbreakable chemistry? are we long lost star x'ed lovers?
Nui Harime it'd be exactly like that for me, i figure.
no subject
I have literally never had that experience.
Penelope Raban But point taken.
Penelope Raban Sex is different than murder attempts though.
