Welcome to all the unfortunate new users of Retrospec. You should know the unnatural changes of the world also affect loved ones outside the city, who are oblivious as the non-Retrospec users here; you might also experience some physical changes or receive unwanted things in the mail. Usually at the start of the month, given others' accounts. Anyway... If people were being very insistent. (Very.) And refusing to take no for an answer, what type of birthday present would you ask for? P.S. Indecisiveness is unhelpful and not the point of the post, please refrain from posting so unless you have some idea.

i always have the same problem my birthdays coming up next week and my familys bugging me about what to get me
i usually just tell them to give me money but that always feels kind of impersonal and theres not much to it visually
so i guess if i had to get SOMETHING maybe i'd ask for a book or a game, or clothes
but usually i let people surprise me

Birthdays almost feel like a chore with this sort of tradition. Actually even greetings feel silly when family goes around announcing it to all these people you don't even know.

It's just another day. One where you happened to be born.

yeah i can see that they always turn them into this whole big production
i can see why people like celebrating it
i haven't had like a legit party for myself in a few years though it's kind of nice to keep it quiet

For me it's always been family-centered, so it's hard to imagine anything else. And now that I'm away from them I guess the definition will be changing even more.

It's not like I have a computer of my own, so face-to-face over Internet connection would still be tricky to coordinate unless I borrow.
