Welcome to the latest development in Retrospec's weirdness. They sent me these comics about myself a few months ago and most of them were really messed up. Damaged covers, missing pages, all sorts of rips and tears, you name it. But I just took another look at them today and a bunch of the damage is fixed now. Most of the covers on the Young Allies ones are mostly restored, and a lot of pages that were ripped out earlier are now back in the books like they were never gone.
I don't know what it means, but it's creepy.
Now here's where I ask the obligatory questions: has anyone else had anything similar happen, what's Retrospec playing at here, are they crawling into my windows when I'm asleep to glue new pages in, etc. etc.
(( Full image available here, because I ain't about to embed that nonsense. ))

What's the plot of the Young Allies?

What's your book supposed to be?

And it's a book on quantum physics. One that I-- or the other me, at any rate-- wrote.
no subject
You wrote it and part of it was missing? What did Retrospec rip out of it at first?

(( Pretend all these pages are appropriately aged and slightly ripped. All instances of Steve's name/title are still missing, as if the top layer of the paper in those portions of dialogue had been ripped up like poorly ripped off tape. ))

is that just the art or does that one guy have an actual skull face

Although in at least one of the comics it's a mask.

This is a little embarrassing, actually.
And they're about you?
no subject
But yeah, they're supposedly about me. Or some version of me that runs around yelling "wahoo" all the time.

[Hey, at least one other person is thinking that's weird. Yay?]

Unless you think Retrospec has a thousand versions of the same exact comic books with the same exact damage marks that they're swapping out for me.
[ It sounds ridiculous, but so is everything else about this, so honestly, as skeptical as he sounds (and is), he'd still believe it. ]

[Highly questioning their sanity and motives, sure. But not really that much surprised.]
Want me to keep one for you for a couple of days as an experiment? How long does it take between the fixes? If the ones you have keep restoring and the one with me doesn't we've got one more clue.
no subject
But sure, I can loan you one for a while so long as you don't damage them any more than they already are.

I might have to start setting up security webcams in my house to try and catch them in the act. If that's what's really going on.

Although, I suppose it can be a good thing that the comics are being restored or something?
no subject
I don't really care about the comics, though--I don't care that they're getting restored beyond it being part of Retrospec's weirdness. It's only good if you consider it helpful to find out more ways they're screwing with us.
