So here’s a hypothetical situation for all of you out there.

Let’s say that, hypothetically speaking, you have an older sibling. While this older sibling of yours did not raise you, they have looked out for you for most of your life. This older sibling also eventually became your legal guardian for two years.

And then you fuck up in a sort of big way, but you’re now a legal adult.

In this totally hypothetical situation, would you say it’s messed up if this older sibling of yours grounds you? Like, I mean, come on! You’re a legal adult now! You’re too old to be grounded!

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Then yes, I think it would be inappropriate for your-- excuse me, for "his" sibling-- to ground you. Even if "he" hadn't acknowledged it, the older sibling would be on shaky ground, given the younger in question is an adult, but given he's still living under his roof, yes, I could see where he was coming from.
