This is a petition to ask Home Depot to reconsider kicking out cats from their stores. This is in response to the latest incident in the news. We believe that cats should have the right to shop wherever they like. This poor cat probably just wanted to buy some supplies to build itself a perfect deck to sunbathe in. They should not have been discriminated against and escorted out. Even if the cat was later allowed inside the store, it should have had to leave in the first place. It's social media. Inane theories and cat pictures seem to be the whole point. Maybe they decided this is fine for now. Or they haven't caught it yet. It hasn't been that long, right? They could be working on a fix as we speak.

If I change anything, it'll change everything else too. So if I want to silence this app, I have to silence the rest. I do sometimes get important messages on here, so I can't really do that...

I suppose I'll just have to get in the habit of turning my phone to silent when I'm in the middle of practice.

I have to agree. Change won't happen if we don't do anything, and based on the responses to this post, a lot of people think the same thing.

I have started the petition here. We need to boost it so we can get as many signatures as possible. We can then send it to Home Depot's social media accounts or all other stores that support this cat ban.

Not all of my colleagues are entirely up to speed on social media, I'm afraid -- thought most of them embrace the Internet and electronic communication wonderfully. The difference between these days and my undergraduate years can't be overemphasized, and I mean that for the better.

Have you looked into grants and scholarships at this time?
