who else feels like their "past self" should have remained dead? i can't be the only one.

surprisingly? no. i fully expected it, but either no one particularly cares or no one got the impression that i'm interested in killing myself.

That's an almost welcome change, if you ask me. It's not as though that opinion can't be held separate of the desire to do anything about it now; it's frustrating that most people here can't compartmentalize it far enough to realize that.

Consider the lack of bleeding hearts fortunate, whatever the reason.

i am, don't worry. and you have my sympathy for any comments of the sort you may have received. i know i would be annoyed by it.

the most i'm interested in is knowing if karma caught up with him properly, and i would prefer not to have to actively feel it myself.

It's annoying, but it's ultimately bearable from most people. Just highly unnecessary, and difficult to explain why it's unnecessary to others on top of it.

As for karma's intervention...that's reasonable. I admit I've been curious about similar matters; here's to eventually finding answers, I suppose.

people do tend to make ridiculous assumptions, especially children, and there's no shortage of those on this application.

How long have you been on the app, through curiosity?

since may. it's hard to believe it's only been five months.

The same length of time as I have, then. So much has happened since then, and half of it feeling like some sort of hideous hallucination besides... It's agitating, to not put too fine a point on it.

for half of that month i certainly tried to convince myself it was a nightmare, but denial only worked so well. not that accepting it was a much easier process.

did you ever expect that things would end up as dire as they did last month?

No. In fairness to both myself and everyone else on this app, however, I don't know that there's any way that we could have foreseen the extent of it.

i didn't either, though i feel like someone must have, with how retrospec proved anything was possible.

either way, we'll be more prepared for anything from this point forward, at least mentally if not otherwise.

Perhaps. It does seem as though that particular incident was somewhat beyond Retrospec's control, however - so I don't know how much we can say that even they foresaw something quite like that.

even if that is true, i wouldn't be surprised if they decided to inflict us with something similarly dangerous, even if it wasn't as outright destructive.

I'm inclined to agree, though I have to wonder if they'd attempt something half as dangerous to the civilian population as opposed to just us. That was the part that most agreed seemed a bit low, even for them.

seeing how they freely manipulate those people with every change doesn't give me the best impression of their opinion of those "civilians."

i'll certainly hope that they have some sort of line they won't cross, but i can't expect it at this point.
