hey. first matter of business is that you won't be getting items in the mail any longer. i'll send you tickets if i get something and you can ignore it if you want or pick it up from the mailbox. it's your choice. if you ignore it whatever it is stays in storage. the original thought was that you would like your things back, but since that isn't always the case this seems like the easiest way to avoid problems.

i'll be upfront and say that you shouldn't try to put anything in the mailbox that doesn't go there. you can put in items registered in our system but anything else will trigger the failsafes. while these failsafes aren't lethal or anything, they're designed to be about as much of a pain as it would be for me to sort out that kind of thing. so that's your warning to maybe avoid triggering them?

please do not attempt to destroy the mailbox. it took me a while to set up. it's over by the building. you'll recognize it because it is blue. instructions on how to use it will come with any tickets i mail out. if you have an item you want stored which is in our systems, go over and put it in. if you want one unstored, it'll give it back. easy as pie. no one else can pull your stuff or store it; it's locked to specific users with specific items.

by the way, this isn't going to be working fully until the third. i'll be sending out tickets anyway though, so just keep tabs on them.

can't do anything about physical changes without knocking your souls out of alignment, which is technician work anyway, and also would kind of kill you. joanne will address that in a second.

Hello! Like Maurice said, the physical changes are a result of your souls being as they are! What the mind forgets, the soul remembers. As long as you're you, you will become more "you" physically. It's a little like an echo coming back? I'm trying to be understandable, but the actual explanation is way more technical, sorry! That said, the only way to "stop" that kind of thing would be to let your soul dissipate, which is possible but 1) would kill you! and 2) would definitely be a thing I don't want to do because of point 1 and 3) is entirely against the company directives anyway. Maurice doesn't think saying this will help much, but I don't see any reason to not! Well, actually what he said was that people always need a target and he doesn't mind us being one, but he's a gloomy dork so he doesn't get a say. My great-grandmother liked people who were honest, not people who sighed and didn't bother to say things!!

Also, I did try to explain unreality effects earlier when I spoke to some of you, but I don't think I was as clear as I could have been. At least, I'm not sure how to say things clearly and still be allowed to say them, but! There is something that causes unreality on the whole that I can't really say much about. But it was very connected to what destroyed all those poor worlds. We can't do much about that, but sometimes we can snag a few souls from those places, so we do, because we can. Not everyone liked that, you know, but what's the point of saving only yourself from the dark? Anyway, they had that argument way before I was ever born, but even if they'd had it when I was alive, this would definitely be my answer.

We do manage to stabilize things sometimes. I'm afraid I need to let you know that some of it we're going to have to let go. The changes might be a little confusing, but it shouldn't be dangerous. We're going to be moving some resources into better defenses against that kind of huge storm. Please don't worry too much if some things move around or shrink! It's a lot to maintain, you know?

I'm sorry that we can't be more exact. This month shouldn't be more than residual effects from what we're doing, though. So it won't be any uncontrolled unreality. Mostly! For the record, we don't really control what those effects are! I can't really address everyone but I know that came up a lot last time?

As of this post, clothing and personal items have now regained the color blue! This includes all items your character had in their AU plus any regains your character has obtained. However, this does not include physical features.

As a reminder, this month's freebie regain can be earned with one thread on this post with five consecutive comments from you with a new character. We define "new character" as any of the incoming new characters from the application round regardless of TDM tags or any in-game character who your character has not threaded with. Once you have those five comments you may turn in the regain request as usual with "November Freebie" as the explanation (and the thread link).

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

Both. She sells her produce at the farmer's market as well.

I've never been to the farmer's market. Where is it? Are they open every day?

Hollingberry Park, and no. It's on at the weekends, from around 8am to 2pm.
They're nice to go to. Higher quality of product for the most part, and you're buying directly from the people baking, growing, harvesting the products in the first place.

It might not be the most economic of options, but I find it worth buying things like honey or chutneys from the market.

[personal profile] compendiem 2017-11-07 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Might go if I'm awake then. You're the second to recommend higher quality honey to me. Is it really better?

It's pleasant, I think. I think some people are interested in health benefits, but ... I don't really know much about those. Maybe there's less sugar in the ones at the farmer's market.

[personal profile] compendiem 2017-11-07 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Like raw honey, I guess. Honey is basically sugar, so less sugar wouldn't be a good thing. Not sure I can afford it the luxury, but I'll check it out regardless.

Perhaps. Or ... flavoured? I've heard there are some where they flavour the honey with roses and such.

[personal profile] compendiem 2017-11-07 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I only use honey for coughs. It'd be a waste on me.

There are pies as well. If honey and organic eggplant aren't your thing.

[personal profile] compendiem 2017-11-08 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'd rather the eggplant than the pies, to be honest. I would buy the eggplant.

If it's growable, it's probably been produced and put up for sale by someone.

The grocery story. Where I can buy all my other groceries at the same time, all in one convenient location, for a cheap price. I'm surprised farmers markets are still sustainable.

Do you know how much commission a farmer makes on average for every pint of milk sold at a major store?

[personal profile] compendiem 2017-11-08 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
No. How much?

*pretend i wrote litre OTL

[personal profile] fabrefactions 2017-11-08 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Around 22.4p a litre, of roughly...$1.14ish, give or take. Considering the amount of work and cost that goes into raising, milking, and distributing the product, that isn't a major return. Not for the long run.

Farmers markets may not be somewhere you could do a whole shop, but for making sure the bulk of profit goes to the seller it's a good place to start. Or, if you want to support someone trying to earn funds independently, or get a fledgling business off the ground it's a good place to start.

[ "yusuke i am literally living off leftovers from work, that is why i subjected myself to the food industry, i cannot afford to support somebody else's livelihood when i can barely support my own" etc etc ]

I see. That's tough. I'll do what I can.

[well, his best friend sells there. buy her stuff. /rings a tiny support haru bell]

Yes. I couldn't afford to do a full shop at a market. But it's nice when the opportunity presents itself to buy a item or two.

We'll see.

That is good enough.

Yeah. See you there, maybe.
