Welcome to Retrospec™, the last social media network you will ever need. You are one of the few selected to test this exciting new platform based on our cutting-edge algorithms. Less than two hundred invitations have gone out, and membership is not currently open to the public. However, we hope you will come to see how useful Retrospec™ is, given time. We have for your use a variety of features such as text, voice, video, and image posts. We encourage you to explore our many options.

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. As a reminder, everything besides uploading a profile picture and information was locked until this post. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Oddly, profile pictures still cannot be swapped out at this time, so hopefully you took a good one.

This post is an overflow from the original post here. Feel free to either carry over threads from there or create entirely new ones.

[This poor girl. He needs to introduce her to some dudes... He's making a note to do that.]

Oh yeah sure! I can bring Evie. She seems to get along with everyone so far, so I bet she'll get along with them too.
I need to take her on my walks anyway.
I've never had to host a party. I mean, my dad would but I never had to do it personally!
That's really impressive that you can do that despite still being pretty young.
Did you grow up in that kind of thing?

[ Psh, dudes! Who needs dudes when there is SUFFERING IN THE WORLD THAT MUST BE RECTIFIED??? ]

Of this I have no doubt. If she's half as amicable as you are, I am certain we will all become fast friends!
I did, though my family never hosted them themselves. My parents were very much involved with high society, so charity events were the norm.
As a girl, I never quite grasped the scope of such events... but the years have given me more perspective.
Though the intent behind such events is often lost in their execution, they certainly acquire results.

[Jake can't imagine not dating... Girl needs to try it??]

My dad was really rich. So we traveled a lot and we'd go to parties like that, too.
He really liked to invest in the sciences especially and start up businesses.
So it wan't exactly a straight out charity? But he did a lot of good work!
I didn't really get it either when I was a kid? I just thought hey, cool, a party!
So the fact that you're working this hard now and putting in so much effort is amazing to me.

[ She definitely does. Though she will likely never admit that. ]

Your father sounds like a remarkable man, one that shaped the world around him. What sorts of businesses did he start?
And he raised you on top of all those wondrous things, so he is clearly capable of a great many things.
I am certain that you make him very proud.
It's not so amazing, but I thank you for your kindness. I simply cannot see myself doing anything else outside of this.

Aw, man. I hope I make him proud. He, um, adopted me actually!
I knew early on. He just wanted a family. So I think he was happy with me.
But I still have to do more someday! Like you are!
But anyway, he did a lot of electronics stuff. Parts for laptops and computers and phones.
He got in it early so he really struck it rich.
Giving back was always important to him though.
