Just a few. Take care of my houseplant after I'm gone. Keep my car clean (the Mustang, not the other one). Don't let Dr. Sutcliffe near my scarf collection, nor my hat.

I'll move the houseplant to my dorm. The Mustang will be washed with only the most expensive cleaning supplies (perhaps I could drive this?). And I will bury the scarfs and hat along with you so they will be far away from the reaches of Dr. Sutcliffe.

Unless he is that determined, then I'm not sure that I am able to possibly stop a man like that.

Dr. Sutcliffe is a woman, and she can be quite determined. But you're a persuasive young man. I'm sure you can talk your way out of her striking a match and lighting my scarves ablaze. That, or I expect a brave self-sacrifice on your part.

Regarding the car, can you drive stick shift?

Do you treasure your scarves enough to allow me to face minor to moderate burn injuries? I can't say that I am thrilled with the idea of being set on fire, but if it is your final wishes, then I will respectfully sacrifice myself for them.

Whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger, of course. If I make it through the flame and fires, maybe I'd be even able to take on that venti mocha that sealed your fate.

Most cars these days are automatic, so it may be somewhat difficult to find myself a teacher. Perhaps Craigslist would have some ads for stick driving lessons?

[ Honestly, the thought of asking Ardyn did cross Souji's mind but he also thought that it might be asking for too much... They're not very close and Souji doesn't want to take up his uncle's free time... ]

[Honestly, Ardyn doesn't mind. Souji seems like a decent kid, even though he's more liable to tease him than to actually say this out loud. If he's willing to learn, wanting to learn, why not indulge him? Ardyn is not completely without kindness -- for now, at least.]

An hour or so out of my day until you learn is negligible. I'm not so busy that I can't spare at least that much.

[ It's not extremely often for people to reach out to Souji like this, much less family members (asides from Yu), so this is an extremely touching moment for him. You know, even if it originated from a joke about driving his hypothetical dead uncle's sweet ass Mustang and catching on fire and all that kind of stuff. Normal conversation stuff, yeah. ]

Then it's settled. I'll be both uncle and driving instructor; a dangerous combination, but we'll survive these hardships before us.

Not at all. Asides from studying, my weekends are very free.

I was considering to look around for a part-time job, but I'm not sure how many places would be looking to hire high schoolers.

Nothing specifically in mind. Of course, I'd love to catsit all day as a professional job, but I have a feeling that I wouldn't find that on the bulletin boards.
