Souji Narukami WE WISH YOU BEST OF LUCK

[ Souji is nowhere in sight when Ryoji returns back to the window, but the cats have disappeared as well. It seems all empty inside this room and when Ryoji taps on the glass, there's no sound of movement from whoever was here earlier to open the blinds. However, within a second of the tapping, a head appears! The head of a cute little peach-coloured cat pops up, staring right at the perpetrator. Strangely enough, nothing else of the cat can be seen, not even its adorable little paws on the windowsill, but who cares about that? Ryoji has the attention of this beautiful feline. Entice it before it decides to scurry off! ]

[appraiser]

[ Oh no, it's cute... It's so cute... Up close, undistracted by typing on his phone, the cat is so cute, Ryoji pockets his phone to place both hands against the glass, tapping with just the one finger to hold the cat's attention. ]

Hi, cat...

[ His voice, too low to be heard through the glass, nevertheless fogs up the surface as he breathes away the frost, so close that his forehead presses against the glass. ]

[ The cat stares at him, unblinking. It only moves its eyes as Ryoji taps on the glass once again. Then, it moves closer towards the glass, its paws finally appearing to place them on the windowsill. It sniffs at the window for a few seconds, wary of this strange person creepily fogging it up, but then it raises one single paw into the air. ]

[ Is this it? The moment where it will reach out with its paw to touch with Ryoji's? It's so close that it can and... ]

[tarotcards]

[ ... then a person suddenly appears, holding the cat and all. ]

[ Heeeeere's Souji! ]

[ Just awkwardly squatting there, holding Cream-san in front of him, and moving one of her front legs to wave. ]

[appraiser]

[ Souji's face will forever give him nightmares, more than that movie ever did (and it did, for two weeks, then he packed up and moved to the Bahamas where there is no snow nor hopefully axe murderers). One day, Ryoji will look back at this and laugh, but today, right now, he yelps and yanks his face back to put two yards distance between him and the window, both hands clasped over his chest to still his pounding heart. Mouth open, affronted, about to say something or do something but

he can't help it

he's so weak

he has to wave back to Cream-san first, it's only polite. ]

[ If Souji has caused any lasting damages to Ryoji's psyche, enough for him to pack up and jump on a plane to the other side of the world, then he will gladly set a Gofundme for Ryoji's expenses. That's the least he could do, right? ]

[ After Ryoji waves at Cream-san, Souji wraps an arm around her so he could continue to hold her as he reaches into his pocket to pull out his phone. After some tricky one-handed texting, he sends off the following messages: ]

Souji Narukami IT SEEMS AS IF YOU WERE ABLE TO ENGAGE WITH THE FELINE TARGET

[ There are some things a person just can't escape from no matter how far they run away... This might be one of those things, but any impromptu escape plans are cut off when his phone buzzes in his pocket and startles his mind away from anything rash.

"Narukami." It's him. It's the commander. ]

Ryoji Mochizuki THANK YOU, COMMANDER

Souji Narukami PROCEED TO THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF THE BUILDING WHERE YOU SHALL BE ESCORTED TO THE DEBRIEFING

[ Which is just around the corner where Souji will eventually head off to. It's okay, he'll let Ryoji in and pet with the cats. ]

[ With a mock salute towards the window, Ryoji bounds off to the front door, careful to tuck his hands back into his coat pockets after knocking— a sharp one-two— to keep them warm and toasty for cat petting.

This is where the real battle begins! Under the guidance of Commander Narukami and armed with dried squid, there's no way he can fail— or at least, he won't leave until he succeeds in maintaining at least two seconds of paw holding. Just casually moves in with you all, nbd. ]

[ Souji salutes back before he takes off. He tucks Cream-san into one arm and makes his way to the lobby. Once he sees Ryoji, he opens the front door and holds it for him to enter. When he does, Souji stands up straight, feet together, and gives one more salute (who let these children play army??) ]

Mochizuki-san. [ He then lowers his arm and wraps it around the very calm and fluffy cat. ] I trust that you made it here without any issues.
