[prompto scooters his way towards the cubenix building after some time spend trying to locate it, and a quick conversation with the night guy let's him know he's in the right place!]

[these pizzas are warm on his hands, but he somehow manages to text a]

[There was a moment to double check with the list of people that could come into the building but once past that hurdle, Prompto would be standing in the lobby looking at an old fashioned elevator next to a sweeping spiral stair case heading up.

And after a moment, he would be getting a text back:]

Take the elevator to the top floor.

got it

[prompto's taking the elevator, waving at the night guy as he gets inside. he takes this as an opportunity to take some pictures; new environment, new chance for some original shots, you know?]

[one of his shots will be titled: my unclean shoes on an extremely polished floor]

[soon as he arrives on that directed floor, however, he leaves his picture taking (mostly selfie-taking) for a second, and walks outside the elevator and into... a hallway?]

Hello~? Pizza delivery!

[Granted the building had been restored to its former glory, so it was well worth getting pictures - from the inlaid floor tiling to the ironwork on the elevator doors to this very hall. It only stayed enclosed around the elevator and stairway area, but after he moved past the arched secondary lobby, the hall turned into a balcony overlooking a wide open office space.

The center had several desks shoved together, each one sporting the type of clutter that techs accumulated over time - computer screens, plants, the inevitable anime/manga/video game figurines, files and folders and bits of other gear. To one side was a counter and small kitchenette, opposite of that was what looked like a gaming area that even included a racing machine and a DDR hookup. The screen in the gaming area was paused on a scene of a burly fighter in mid-strike, lines of code cutting across half of the image as the leggy Korean set his work aside and got up from his chair.]

Hello! C'mon down!

[prompto is impressed at the sight of these familiar yet completely unfamiliar things; he loves videogames, after all.]

Oh, hey!

[seeing another human in the vicinity, he strolls forward with the pizza and bag with the sodas, setting them down near the other]

Pizza's still warm. It wasn't that hard to find this place at all... Ah, here's the receipt.

[hands it over. prompto wants to ask about the place, but he doesn't mean to be rude.]

Still hungry?

[He shuffles the area clear - his keyboard and controller set to one side, and the open file of papers flipped over so the long strings of code were hidden from casual view. The general debris from the workstations had carried over this far, though the figurines had been replaced by giant plushies and character pillows. There was also a couple foam replica weapons propped up against the wall.]

Yup, still hungry. [He checked his pockets, snapped his fingers and dug through the pillows until he unearthed a wad of money and peeled the top bill off, which was a fifty, and hand it over.] No need to give me any change.

[In other words, have a nice tip.]

[woah! he's gotta take on delivering pizza to unknown places more]

[prompto doesn't noctice it, but he's definitely giggling boyishly as he pockets the money onto his vest's pocket. it's only after doing so that he allows himself to look around the office properly.]

This place is so cool, by the way. Can I say that? Is it like a video game place?

[Yoon-sung is just the type to pay extra amounts because he can afford. Others might be a little more stingy.]

[He seemed pretty excitable this kid. Yoon-sung might actually be around the same age, but he never really felt that young anymore. Maybe it was all the expectations or just the sheer amount of BS he had to go through being at his social status, but it always felt like he was older then he should be.

That might explain why he goofed off every chance he got.

Yoon-sung picked up the controller and used it to save and close out the one program and go through simple menu options to bring up a small cutscene in which the burly fighter and another character - slender and probably the mage type - were having a food fight.]

Thanks, I'm glad you like the building. Father thought we should have gotten a more modern place, but I like the feel of this building better. [The scene ran through smoothly then reset itself to the beginning again.] And yeah, we make video games.

[prompto's eyes are glued to the screen, as it were. what yoon-sung says last about the fact that "we" make video games seems like such a given at this point.]

Oh man.

[finally, he does turn his gaze away from the screen]

Have you done any that are already out in the market? I've never seen how video games are made, but I love video games though!

[He was pretty proud of how the animation looked, especially for the cut scenes like this one. They were a small group, but the coding was solid and that's all he ever asked for from his workers.]

Neat, right? I can't wait to get this out on the market.

[He wasn't going to dig into the food right away but he was going to send a text to his PA to let him know that there was pizza in the office.]

We've got a few releases, mainly MMOs. Brothers in Arms, Brothers at War, and this is part three, Brothers on the Road. There's also a couple kid games our parent company has made.

Your parent company...?

[prompto is basically gobsmacked impressed by everything, glancing around some more and near-skipping to another screen with undecipherable coding.]

I think I've heard of Brothers on the Road! [turning to yoon-sung] But I've never actually played it. What's the one that was on the screen about?

The Jin Group out of South Korea. Cubenix is the gaming branch, and this is the fledgling U.S. branch of that.

[it was standard stuff to Yoon-sung, having grown up surrounded by the coding and the games though his father had always been more interested in the money side of things. he watched prompto as he explored, chuckling a little.]

It's not out yet, but the hype has gotten pretty big around it - new game mechanics, some special extras, and a couple famous actors for the main villains. [he glanced up at the cut scene, watching the two characters as they argued over the food.] That's one of the possible cutscenes you can get at the rest points.

[as interesting as this is, prompto's afraid that he's going to spoil himself big time. what if it ends up being a game he'll like, thus buy?! there's temptation everywhere, so he decides to just look at the other guy.]

I don't wanna be spoiled!

[he's said it]

[yoon-sung is a little mean in that he kinda laughs at the cry of getting spoiled but he still picks up the controller and clicks through options to get to the opening credits of the game which play out a lot like a movie opening. that is, a group of random characters standing around arguing about the state of their transport while names scrolled by.]

That cutscene isn't that much of a spoiler. There's a couple others that are but we are using that one to show off the 3D modeling effects we've managed to create.

[okay, he waited long enough so he going for a piece of that pizza. coding is hard work after all.]

How long? I'd say a month? We have to run through the beta and then we should be set. Digital downloads will come first, of course, but physical should be about six weeks.

[prompto does relent and allows himself to look at the screen, marveling over at the cutscene. there's no context, so he could easily not be spoiled for it. ...so he gives in and allows himself to enjoy, dammit; peering in close, amazed by the fluidity overall--]

I know literally nothing of this game.

[turning to look back at the other]

...but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be getting it.

Basically it's about a group of weary warriors making a cross country trip to reach the capital of a neighboring country for peace talks. We wanted to add some story to the element of traveling and exploring the realm and still give players a chance to play with the game mechanics.

[ he's so proud of his baby game. it took him forever to make it work out and then to get the flaws sorted out and while he was sure that there will still be issues with it, it's still not bad considering everything involved.]

I hope you will enjoy it. We've already have plans for events in the works.

That sounds really fun...

[prompto crosses his arms and does his best not to pout, because he doesn't want to appear like a manchild that loves playing videogames more than anything else.]

Will we have to pay to get those events?

It's going to be. I hope.

[ yoon-sung will not judge. after all he is a man-child who loves video games more then actually making an attempt to keep any of his relationships going beyond the whole dating point. ]

I don't see why you would have to on top of the normal server fees for an MMO.

[prompto nods and smiles, satisfied with the answer. it's good to know that game developers aren't entirely trying to take money away from the gamers in every possible way. it's actually a relief that a guy about his age is the one working on an upcoming game]

Sounds cool, dude. I honestly can't wait to try this out.

[uncrossing his arms, he walks around yoon-sung, lightly hitting an open palm with a fist. he's amped.]

If you need someone to test out your game, gimme a shout.

[prompto doesn't want to extend his welcome in gaming headquarters]

[ he couldn't say if there weren't going to be some extras that would needed extra funds, but he saw no reason to make a game that would cost for every little upgrade made to the program once it was out in the public.

he just glances at the pizza guy before making a face and flipping through a couple pieces of paper before finding a list and ripping off the bottom portion. this yoon-sung held out to him. ]

Here. You'll have to have an active account with the servers when we announce the beta-testing in the next couple of days, but once there, just input the codes. It'll give you a chance to run through the beta without hoping on the random drawing we'll be hosting.

[prompto almost doesn't let yoon-sung finish before he's already excitedly shouting, taking the piece of paper and holding it in his hands like it's the most precious piece of information in the universe]

Seriously! You gotta let me repay you! This is-- This is so awesome!

[ that kind of reaction is one of the main reasons why he likes making games. sure it's fun to build a world and populate it and watch people as they try to find the secrets and hidden Easter eggs built into the games, but that there was the biggest reason. seeing someone happy about a game he helped create was worth the headache getting there. ]

Don't worry about it. We get four codes each to hand over to whoever and since I don't know very many people in this city, it's really nothing to give it to someone that will enjoy it.

[ after all, there wasn't much he really needed in this place. he had david and the rest of his team, so he didn't need anything special. most of his life he had been given special treatment. ]

Just enjoy it.
