hello, everyone! :)
as many of us are aware, the senior class at recolle high school will be graduating soon, and well....
i am part of that class!
i guess because of this fact, i have been thinking that it is maybe time for me to be a bit more independent than i have been, and find a job
this is pretty easy in theory but i find that there is a problem that is maybe not much of a problem to some people but it has been giving me something to think about lol
namely, i do not know what to expect and how difficult getting my first job will be :o
if you have advice, i would definitely like to hear it!!!!
on the other hand, i would like to know what your first job was like, as a blanket sort of thing

ummm, so i guess to make this more concise, i have a few questions!
what was your first job?
what was getting it like?
would you recommend it to someone looking for a first job?

I had a summer job at a movie theater last year.
It was pretty easy and kind of fun and the hours were flexible.
And they didn't care that I'd never worked before.
Could be worth a look?

Ugh, yeah.
It's hard to get the smell out of your hair.

But you get to see free movies?

i dont think itd be a bad job in the least
it sounds like it was plenty rewarding for you, too!
although to be honest, i dont know if id be able to sit still long enough to work a projection
i already have trouble sitting still in a theater hehehe

When I had to work in there I mostly did homework for my summer class.
But when you first start you'll be running around a lot cleaning and carrying stuff or ushering.
There's not a lot of sitting down.

is that when you tell people what theater their movie is playing in?
i dont mind cleaning, though!

And showing people to their seats in the dark if the movie already started.
But pretty much yeah.

It's mostly cleaning at first.

it sounds sooooo fancy, i dont think i would be able to live up to it

They all still do that, I think? You just have to ask.
It's so you can't sue them if you trip in the dark trying to find your seat, I imagine.

Oh I hadn't thought of that.
The theater I worked in didn't do that yet when I was there.

I suppose they must, now.
But people could trip so...

I haven't any idea if they still have ushers, I suppose!

i think that the people who cut your ticket and tell you what theater youre in are still called ushers
...or i could have been calling them the wrong thing all this time, i suppose :o

Hmph!!!

I think they're also called ushers but I never really thought about it.
We didn't call that anything when we got assigned it, it was just 'go tear tickets.'
