this clearly has nothing to do with tablegate 2k17

hello, everyone! :)
as many of us are aware, the senior class at recolle high school will be graduating soon, and well....
i am part of that class!
i guess because of this fact, i have been thinking that it is maybe time for me to be a bit more independent than i have been, and find a job
this is pretty easy in theory but i find that there is a problem that is maybe not much of a problem to some people but it has been giving me something to think about lol
namely, i do not know what to expect and how difficult getting my first job will be :o
if you have advice, i would definitely like to hear it!!!!
on the other hand, i would like to know what your first job was like, as a blanket sort of thing

ummm, so i guess to make this more concise, i have a few questions!
what was your first job?
what was getting it like?
would you recommend it to someone looking for a first job?

thank you all in advance <3

shouldn't be too hard if you have connections. hit up places your friends work, get an inside reference- then you're gonna know what to expect too, they can tell you.

even better if you know somebody higher up through family or something, that might get you in.

do you have an idea of where you want to work? or alternately, what sort of jobs you don't think you could ever do?

My first job was with Enchanted Blossoms, and I still work there.
It wasn't that terrifying. Mikoto's family was always very nice, and I gave them my resume. And, I certainly would say it is a nice place to work. I don't know if Mikoto is hiring right now, though.

Really, though, I hear getting a job is pretty easy for someone in high school, especially part time work.

I'm in academia so that probably doesn't help
There's just kind of an understanding that you work for the university when you enter grad school
That said if you're looking for something like a retail job I recommend a local store
You here all kinds of horror stories about big chains
Except Starbucks apparently they're great

i mean you do use a resume, you just have someone who already works there vouch for you, you know? helps if they can tell the boss that they know you and you'll do a good job.

and if your parents have friends who work places you could get into that's not bad either, it's how i got my first gig

Independence is overrated.
It's a ton of hard work, and none of it is really any fun.
But if you're looking for a good job
It's really about who you know.

Oh, you're another of Dave's friends? I must swear, he does seem to know everyone, does he not?

And I hope you can too. There are plenty of good jobs out there, though. But, let us see. It has been a while, though I could show you my old one and we could go over what they expect? It isn't terrifying, really.

[Worse. A trust fund snob.]

You'd think that skill was important
But it isn't really
As dumb as that sounds.
Especially at your age
Like, how do you set yourself apart from the other kids?
Not easy.

what, they only know other detectives and professors? do they just not get out much or what?

worked at a restaurant here when i was younger, guess my dad knew the owner from school or something. that kind of thing's not bad if you don't mind customers being shits sometimes.

Well, that's wonderful. He seems a very nice man, so I hope you two are happy.

And yes, most people do have to acquire one. I don't really have much of a choice, since I immigrated here. It is a bit difficult to live here otherwise, after all. So, I am more than happy to help out, and you have the right idea for the most part. You just play up your strengths and sound normal, and there's lots of options.

Apples and oranges.
Your friends are going to care about what makes you a special snowflake
Unless your skills are readily apparent, a business isn't going to give you the time of day.

[She pulled up a copy of a basic resume and sent it with her next message.]

Ok, that's all good, but what you want to do is start with your name, contact information, and your education. All of the things you have are good. It must simply be organized.

The idea is to make it easy for them to find each thing individually, as you can see.

You wouldn't be expected to put much down. You're still a student, after all. This is normal for someone's first job, I am told. But you might simply not include that section, as you are still a student.
