a timely warning
given the time of year and the recent influx of now wild turkeys, i think we should all take a moment to remember what the real menace of society is

[One of these days, Xiaolang is going to learn not to click videos people link him-- but today is not it!! It's a lot better than the meme videos May had sent him, but he can only get a minute into it before he clicks back out.]
... who even makes this stuff?

thanksgiving is all about the sides really, the stuffing and sweet potato pie and stuff
mmmm, stuffing
[heheheheheh]
good people, that's who
oh my god sorry this is so late CON STUFF ATE ME...
[Don't mind him, Marina, he's just......... Not Good with high quality videos, that's all, sobs]
But I suppose that's true... in that case, wouldn't it just be better to buy certain bits of it that people are guaranteed to eat instead of a whole bird? Like the legs or the white meat or something like that? Even if you have a large amount of people to feed, running out during dinner isn't always a bad thing. You can use the space you'd use for the whole turkey in the fridge for the things you actually DO like. Like... pie and stuffing, whatever that is. [Again, gotta love that cultural divide.]
youre fine dw!
well i mean, people like dark meat, too.
there's not necessarily lots of pieces that people don't want, so much as there's just so much of it. usually you attempt to divide and conquer and send bits of it home with every person, but you still end up with days worth of food yourself.
but I get where you're coming from, turkeys are a pain to prepare on top of that, take hours.
also stuffing is the best it's basically just mushy seasoned bread. which now that i say that sounds very unappetizing but i swear it's good

Those were just examples, but I can sort of see what you mean. It just seems to make more sense to avoid the trouble of sending people home with stuff they might not want or eat if you just make smaller dishes or cook not so big birds. I mean, why is it that turkeys are traditionally eaten during this holiday, anyway? Because they're big and serve a lot of people? You could probably do a better job with roasted pork-- it's still big, but slow cooking usually doesn't turn it into a dry, gross disaster.
... but you're right, that does sound kind of unappetizing. [But he's going to take a quick google search of it anyway, to see what the possible appeal is.] It... kind of reminds me of some sticky rice dishes, though? Except with bread, of course.

yeah, that's a good way to think about it!
