1) don't be dumb. my name isn't a pun on wendigo. i'm not a wendigo. i'm a humanoid from aht. 2) i can probably kill you more efficiently than a wendigo anyway? what the fuck do they even do? 3) i don't care about the other inane bullshit enough to comment. ok, the number list thing is boring as fuck. moving on. the kids talked about grabbing souls and them being knocked out of alignment last time. i'm allowed to pick one damn thing to clarify here within a bullshit rulebook, so let's clear up this: it's not like anyone is picking and choosing which to grab. one soul looks pretty much like another, you know? i've been waiting a pretty long time to see if any will be from my homeworld. none of you are. not like they're trying to grab anyone in particular. but if you were wondering about "why" it's "because you were fucking there". think of it like a band of traveling hoarders. they see remnants of a world in a mess of shards and pick them up before the shards disappear. i was a shard, but i still had my body. i also happened to not be on aht when it met its end. they don't stay put. pieces and bits of whatever. they travel, and some of them are already here, because you are. so i stick around because maybe eventually someone they pull out of the dark might be someone i knew. but yeah, no one gives a single fuck about worth. that's the mystical how do you choose me or this other person i remember who deserves it more answer: you happened to be there, and they weren't. or they haven't been yet. you're welcome. Wendy Guo Security/Archivist Retr spec IncorporatedHi! Just so you know, we've re-stabilized green! Although I see some alerts on my screen so that's not great, something else got knocked out? I have to go figure out what. But as a tip, unreality functions on a lot of loopholes. Try carrying some words around or thinking outside of the box if you get into a pinch, okay? Joanne Wiseman Technician 2nd class Retr spec IncorporatedAs of this post green has been entirely returned to the world and everyone's sense of taste has officially disappeared. You win some, you lose some. Please note that as tiers are reached we may delay them by a week or so per tier in order to allow people to play with the loss effects! While the world regains post may be used for OOC knowledge, please know that nothing is in effect until a mod-announcement goes up (this may be an IC announcement as well, depending.)
The freebie that can be earned on this post requires one thread featuring at least five comments from you with one new character. Please note, we define "new character" as any of the incoming new characters from the application round (regardless of TDM tags you may have done with them) or any in-game character your character has not threaded with before. As usual, this regain should be turned into our regains request post with "December Freebie" and the qualifying thread link in the explanation section! As notated above, this freebie will not qualify past December. Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. |

And a book is unwieldy, hard to use, takes both hands to get any force, and lacks any method of decisively ending a fight.
no subject
but you're correct in saying that books aren't meant to be anything more than books
[ she has experience :'| ]

My own sword is, for some godforsaken reason, also the key to my motorcycle.
no subject
at least you're never without something for self-defense? i suppose.
no subject
Before I had a sword.

[ she wouldn't discount the latter given. retrospec. ]

When monsters attacked, I found it was very effective to just hit them with my motorcycle at speed.
no subject
yet very cool
i'm quite impressed!
i hope you haven't had to do that recently, however
no subject
Though my new motorcycle appears to be designed to handle such things.
It's steel armored.
no subject
your motorcycle sounds incredibly cool
do you have a picture of it?
no subject
[a picture goes here! it's something in between this and this. Silver, heavily armored, a large keyhole in the center of the dashboard, etc. It looks solid and heavy and like it was designed to take a beating and keep going!]
no subject
it is, in fact, incredibly cool
did it come with your key-blade?
no subject
When the convention was attacked, and my previous motorcycle was destroyed, I found them in the ruins of the Retrospec booth.
no subject
does it run better or about the same as your old one?
no subject
i'm sorry]
Differently, for certain, though it's hard to say 'better'.
My previous bike was a Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade.
It was much, much lighter than my current bike.
However, I think my current bike has higher horsepower.
The dashboard display is in a language I do not yet understand, as it came from my visions, so I'm missing a lot of the technical details of it.
It does seem to at least partially run on the driver's stamina somehow, though.
Magic, I assume.
My Fireblade had much better acceleration due to its lower weight, but so far, the top speeds I've been able to reach are comparable.
But I feel like I haven't quite yet figured out everything this new bike can do.
There's a definite advantage to it, but at the same time, since it seems to at least partially run on my magical stamina, riding for too long can wear me out, which is definitely a problem...
Although it's certainly helpful with gas money, since it doesn't use any.
I haven't been able to figure out how to open it up to look at the engine yet, unfortunately, and I'm rather afraid to try to without more visions of understanding how it works.
I don't want to break it irreparably, after all.
I had a much stronger personal attachment to Stray, but if there are more monster attacks or the like, this bike is going to be more useful.

she is impressed and warmed by the nerdery here. passionate people are so wonderful. ]
you still have quite the grasp on it regardless though, so i applaud you!
have you attempting triggering visions for it?
not that i'm quite certain how you might do so, but it may be worth looking into if seeing what's inside is important to you.
no subject
Thank you.
I've thought about it, but I think it's better to avoid trying to trigger them.
The only way I can think to trigger visions about the motorcycle would be doing reckless things while driving.
And I feel like a vision at sixty MPH would end very poorly.
no subject
... yes, i believe so as well.
hmm...
what about one of those motorcycle racing games at the arcade? the ones that allow the bike some freedom of movement for turns in the game.
