Hello and happy new year! A lot of poll results came in from R&D and we've almost fixed taste all the way. Horses are almost fixed, too. We've been working pretty much non-stop around the holidays to stabilize everything, so I hope this works! Just so you guys know, while we were working on fixing the original problems we received some alerts of residual effects outside of our usual domain. Don't worry though! Remember what I said a while ago? We're still moving more resources around into better defenses to protect the city from huge storms like last summer. We'll be taking care of that really soon and isolating the unknown problem. I wish I could tell you more, but we're all working overtime here to finish the final stages of a big project. No matter what happens you guys should be safe while we finish up, so just stay calm, okay? Don't get too reckless! I had two of my students in my group and they had to learn how to fight. they'd never fought anything before but we were pitted against all kinds of monsters. they didn't even have weapons, they could've been killed.

not to mention the kids in the other groups, or the ones who disappeared... we were told if we didn't help, our loved ones would cease to exist and that the city itself would be destroyed.

if they want to help, let them. but I don't think it's right to force them into it.

I remember a little from my other life so I fought as hard as I could. I made it out okay but some people broke their arms and stuff...

Not only were you lucky, but they were lucky as well. You must have saved lives other than your own. That is commendable.

Your other life must have been equally dangerous.

Do you believe we will be forced to defend the city again? Their words seem very optimistic, but I have more or less learned to not accept things at face value as of late.

thank you for your kind words, but I still feel like I didn't do enough. I'm not sure I could ever do enough.

I won't sugarcoat it, I lived in a dangerous world before. but it was something worth protecting.

as for defending the city, I believe we will. it's not that I don't have faith in the staff members I met. they seemed genuine to me, like they believed in what they were doing.

I just get the feeling that this... whatever this is... is beyond their control.

I think we'll all have to work together to protect what we have.

I do not think I have the capability to fight as well as someone who might have done it their entire life, unless it means scalding someone with a kettle full of boiling water.

But then again, that may be enough, right?

Still. Belief in one's self or a combined goal is acceptable. Though, to the point of harming others, I do not know if I can agree with it.

However: I do not want anyone to be hurt.
