A couple of people I’ve talked to have saved people in their other life.

I saved a person from drowning, but it seems a lot of others have saved people from worse.

I’m just hoping that my other self was as good a person as I think he was.

Ah, no, not similar memories as in the same experiences, but more like... they remember the same things from your memories? Like people or locations or something like that.

But rescuing someone isn't really an easy feat. There's plenty of things that can go wrong that can either harm you, or put the person in even more danger. [Like them slipping out of your grasp and into a vast, dark pit!! THANKS RETROSPEC FOR THAT WONDERFUL MEMORY] So I think the fact that the other you managed to do something like that is something to be proud of, at least.
