You know, I think some April Fool's pranks are okay! Like the silly ones they do on websites or the really good natured kind. But I am LESS okay with someone changing the ENTIRE layout of our entire building and giving us treasure maps to go around it which for the record my brother-in-law did and it's a pain!!

There's some weird effects coming in from outside this planet at the moment, although they'll mostly miss the city itself. There'll be a localized temporal storm, but it shouldn't be more than a mild irritation. It looks like it's just going to yank some things around and send them on through. I think Maurice is going to call out sick that day, or if I were him I definitely would.

Hey, I kind of want a four-leaf clover. I know that's more last month than this month, but still. If you find one, pass it along.

Also, I want to do a cutesy April Fools thing, so don't get too mad!

For the remainder of the day all users will have their userpic replaced with a picture of them dressed as their favorite animal. It's pretty harmless as far as pranks go, and it will change back either at midnight or after trying to change the picture twice, prompting an "Are you sure?" message but no further ill effects.

[... oh, DUH, Mio knows Japanese too. Maybe he just flaked on that detail because of everything else that had happen earlier.]

... Maybe? I'm not all that good at reading it just yet. The kanji have a lot of weird differences compared to the ones I'm used to. There's also those other two types of letters too... hiragana and katakana. It's a bit much to keep track of.

Oh, if you need help memorizing kana, that's pretty easy. I mean, itbis a lot easier than memorizing a bunch of kanji, anyway. Not to mention that while you need to learn katakana if you're learning Japanese, they're mostly used in loan words. If you get stuck in reading something though, Jisho (the website! Though a dictionary is nice, too) is your best friend.

And there's actually a lot of kanji and hanzi overlap between Japanese and Chinese? They do we up with different pronunciations depending on the language, though. Like the characters in Leon's last name would be pronounced as Shou in Japanese.

Although I totally get that simplified hanzi and kanji are totally different.

[Okay, CONGRATS MIO, that post actually managed to get him to crack a small smile! Which in itself is miraculous since he's been in a weird mood ever since Sakura's party.]

... it's not wrong. I think having it as my first language made it a lot easier to get used to. Though I think compared to all of these, English is the biggest pain of them all. There's no rhyme or reason to it, whatsoever.

That's true. English is a pretty dumb language.
