You know, I think some April Fool's pranks are okay! Like the silly ones they do on websites or the really good natured kind. But I am LESS okay with someone changing the ENTIRE layout of our entire building and giving us treasure maps to go around it which for the record my brother-in-law did and it's a pain!! There's some weird effects coming in from outside this planet at the moment, although they'll mostly miss the city itself. There'll be a localized temporal storm, but it shouldn't be more than a mild irritation. It looks like it's just going to yank some things around and send them on through. I think Maurice is going to call out sick that day, or if I were him I definitely would. Hey, I kind of want a four-leaf clover. I know that's more last month than this month, but still. If you find one, pass it along. Also, I want to do a cutesy April Fools thing, so don't get too mad! It's pretty harmless as far as pranks go, and it will change back either at midnight or after trying to change the picture twice, prompting an "Are you sure?" message but no further ill effects. That would be a real commitment and I'd imagine not everyone who happens to have special abilities have the time or energy to join in but it's worth a shot. With only a handful of the police on the network the sleepers who would normally take care of safety can only do so much.

I'll volunteer what help I can give. I have connections to the local law enforcement and offices of course. Perhaps I can help bridge relations between the officers on the network and those who don't know them yet.

That said I imagine some people might be hesitant about immediately revealing details like their newfound abilities. Not everyone had a happy Other Life. Something to keep in mind.

that's why i'm hoping to put something like this together, matt! that way if some people are busy other people can jump in when they do have time and we know the chain of command to follow after that.

that would actually be very helpful. i would really hate to get everyone together and then have them do something that the police would say is illegal when we're just trying to help out.

i know. trust me, i'm not exactly eager to share with everybody just how i got all of my powers but...that's why the meetings would also be team-building exercises and stuff. get us to trust each other? how are we going to work together as a whole if we don't?

I wonder how much of a challenge determining a chain of command will be.

If it's a question of what's legal I actually know more about that than the police. Prosecutors are the ones that determine what charges to file against criminals. I'll make sure the group avoids legal trouble. Though it's difficult to judge when most of the population are sleepers to follow the law like usual. If everyone was aware of our reality there would be an effort to change and update laws and policies to match our situation. Retrospec itself has already committed countless crimes.

Personally I wouldn't expect everyone to reveal all of their secrets and information. I can't say I'd personally want to tell all.
Well we'll see what people volunteer to share. Trust can still be built between people without knowing every little detail.

retrospec i think doesn't really give a shit about the law or criminal activity so we just have to fight fire with fire as usual. sometimes people notice though, that's what's weird. when all of those buildings moved people noticed for a little while. so maybe there is a way.
yeah. if people don't want to tell everyone everything that is fine, but at the same time then they have to respect that some people may not want to work with them.
but i am hoping by having as many people as possible there are people to group up with everyone no matter the circumstances.
it's just a project to work on.

That's a good attitude to have going into this. I think others will appreciate that sentiment.

As long as they're beyond our reach and connected with the most powerful people in the city Retrospec likely won't have to worry about legal repercussions. Not unless something changes.
I still wonder why the building changes were noticeable to sleepers. Maybe their spacial awareness can't be tricked? They couldn't see that colors were missing before but they knew the number of blocks was wrong. I can relate!

That's only fair. Secrets are at times a necessary evil but the unknown makes many people uncomfortable.
