hey! a while back at the beginning of the month i talked about getting people together to start forming a training coalition/volunteer crisis response team or whatever (this thing) and then this whole month went completely stupid as usual.
so anyway i still want to do that! i know everybody who replied thought it was a good idea and i am hoping to do the first meeting maybe in the first or second week of may and we just hope that the city is a lot less annoying next month.

maybe may 6th or something?

until then if you did not talk to me about this already and you're interested in training and organizing and being part of a crisis response team let me know.

if you already did, do me a favor and fill out the following so i can sort everybody? that would be helpful.

(i can slot you into a support party if that is a thing you would want instead of combat.)

Combustion engines, vehicles, robotic manufacturing devices, power tools.
Repairing machines, circuitry, structural objects.
Little stuff like interlocking puzzles. A music box, once.
I also do metal sculpture but that's really just decorative.

I've designed power grids, prosthetics, suspension bridges, construction cranes, and nanotech circuitry, but I've never actually built any of it.

Combat doesn't bother me but I'm just a squishy human. I don't want to get in the way if something big shows up and the real fighters have to handle it.

that's actually really cool! with everything and all kinds of weapons we are getting back and stuff, would you be interested in maybe being on-board of maintenance purposes and upgrades?
i should also introduce you to my friend eleanor apparently.
we all started off as squishy humans too. we can figure something out, people who don't mind protecting non-combatants in combat. shouldn't be that hard, i've done it before.

I'll need a machine shop and some expensive tools to do anything impressive.
Weapons require highly specialized expertise though.
I can weld a sawed-off shotgun back together but you'd need a gunsmith to make all the adjustments so it can perform correctly.
Same with blades if you want something that performs better than a big kitchen knife.

It wouldn't be too hard for me to learn how to do all that if I could work on it full time, but unless someone's willing to pay for my room and board that won't work.
Give me the tools and the time and sure.
I'll be everyone's on-call custom engineer and mechanic.

I'd rather do that than earn a normal living anyway.

that might be a little out of my price bracket, but i can probably ask around? i know a few people, and if i don't i am willing to bet my best friend does since he knows all kinds of hook-ups for stuff.
let's say you got that though. full shop with tools. what kind of time are you talking?
you could also open up a side-business to be a mechanic and engineer for the whole city for income if i'm thinking about this right.

Military contractors and university engineering departments are usually pretty well equipped.

To learn weaponsmithing? It depends.
If I can find a good apprenticeship in Respartum I could probably learn enough in less than a day to make something that won't break the first time it's used.
Maybe a month to be able to turn out respectable work consistently and actually repair and upgrade weapons properly.
If I had to rely on muggle teachers it would take a lot longer.

Maybe, but normal people would be a lot better off contracting major engineering firms to build their manufacturing robots.
Or going to full-time garages if they want their car fixed.

The only reason you would want to have a specialist like me would be to do things that normal businesses can't.
Like make decent armor for somebody with four arms
Or make a modified gun that can fire magic bullets.
Maybe fix somebody's personal spaceship.

i don't know about that. eren's car's been damaged a lot thanks to shit that happens because of the app. it might be more plausible than you think.

After I bring back another of their fire demons. Might help put them in a good mood.

huh. weird typo, but fair enough. our cat likes to disregard the fact that i am busy talking to people too so she'll sit on my keys and stare at me for a while.
anyway why not? i didn't go to respatrum, i was in bosuma, but i heard from a few other people it wasn't that bad. it might not be bad to have regions on our side, too.
i know him as elliot craig but yeah, same family! he was one of the first friends i made when i moved here.

It's a pretty nice place if you like forges. And fire.
A lot less freaky than Bosuma, I hear. I've met a few people who were there recently, they didn't like it.

can't say i have ever been too close to forges but it sounds warm. i can think of someone else who might like it.
bosuma was kind of crazy but everything i've been hearing now isn't what it was like back in february. something's probably up.

Yeah, they are. Zack's got super-strength and Natalia has magic flying swords. It's pretty cool.
