Don't bother the techs.

Seriously, don't. I'm not entirely sure what's going on but all I'm getting is that it's the equivalent of being hacked and someone who knows layer theory better than we do is out there screwing things up and tampering with the project.

I don't have a really good update for you guys, but bear with us. Please?

Okay, I'll humor you. What theory? You want the chance to say you were right, here's your audience.

Hahahahahaa are you suggesting I really need YOUR validation to think I'm right? What a joke!

I already know what I've experienced, and I know I'm not the only one with similar circumstances, beyond the typical mystery regains... Retrospec clearly has power beyond normal human ability, with how varied these regains are... physical, mental, you name it. Have you considered that while they fight to stay in control their foolish company, they let these regains happen? They're hardly transparent and what they do to help us, and that's all crowd control. You can't tell me that an entity with so much power would be okay with others with equal or greater power being in their precious city.
If they really wanted to be helpful, they would be more transparent, especially for all the begging they do for our cooperation. It's all fake niceties to placate the masses because they know they're losing control. Someone finally took initiative. Someone, perhaps, who is just as sick of their antics as we are. Maybe someone more powerful than them finally, who knows! But I like them already, maybe something will finally get done around here.

I think you need someone's validation or you wouldn't be on this network, just sitting back in wherever you're hiding right now and laughing to yourself. And you picked me.

So why are you deigning to bother with the rest of us except to say 'I was right'? I'm suddenly way more interested in your motivations right now.

Somebody else, not just out to stop Retrospec, but to also jerk us around. And you like them?

[ someone really craves attention ok ]

We're being jerked around because we're under Retrospec's control. Get rid of them, get rid of the control. Sounds like a pretty attractive idea to me.

[Someone's got it.]

We all want Retrospec gone. But without anyone else taking their place.

After meeting Hawthrone in Pesgare? If he's organized with these others? They don't just want to tear it all down. They want the same power Retrospec has, but for something different. We're not going to get let go that easily.

We're Retrospec members. No Retrospec, no us. It's fairly straight forward.

Either way, I find it hard to believe it can get much worse even if someone else takes over.

I'm filing that under Famous Last Words.

Where'd you end up, in February? You had to run across one of those outsiders that Dante was hinting at.

Respatrum.

I had my hands full at the time, I don't recall any outsiders in particular, much less whatever that asshole was hinting at.

Right. You were with Ardyn.

But nobody was behind what was going on there? Just needed to fix that forge?

No. We had to do their errands and chores too... picking flowers, playing with rocks. I don't know what the other groups did down there, and quite frankly, don't care.

If another mysterious group was behind it, I'd say they're of little threat if the worst they could do is destroy a forge.

Maybe it was the worst they could do with the numbers they had. Retrospec's always seemed like it had few people, what if this other group is the same?

If you were the only one fighting against Retrospec, and you wanted to do as much damage as you could, what would you do?

I might have an actual answer if you weren't a cop... This just feels like a trick to make me say something I shouldn't.

More of a 'take it from their perspective' question.

I'd go for what's obviously the central point, and something I could take out on my own. Thus, for Respatrum? The forge. Each area has got to have some kind of tactical weak spot like that.

I haven't been to each area so I can't say either way. Although if they really wanted to make some progress, disposing of whatever leader there is seems like it would be the best route. No leader, no action from the people who need direction.
