Don't bother the techs.

Seriously, don't. I'm not entirely sure what's going on but all I'm getting is that it's the equivalent of being hacked and someone who knows layer theory better than we do is out there screwing things up and tampering with the project.

I don't have a really good update for you guys, but bear with us. Please?

You could go to his office and complain, I suppose.

as satisfying as it might be, i doubt it would get any helpful results.

[At least Zee has been... open to communication? It may very well be the best they'll ever get, as much as Ren hates it.

He may also be picturing "complain" as "punch him in the throat", but you know.]

from what i've read he doesn't seem exactly high on the corporate ladder. which is why he's the one stuck speaking to us.

Right? I can't figure out what their reporting structure is at all. And do they only have like seven people working there, or what? Also, I heard Joanne is only like 14, so she probably shouldn't be on the books at all.

given the focus of their "business" is altering reality, it's no surprise that they wouldn't follow any conventional business practices. or laws. or morals.

Is it inherently unethical to alter reality, do you think?

without our consent, which they never bother asking for? of course it is. but i'm sure they consider themselves above such concerns.

That's a good point.
The whole thing's complicated... so many people are affected, and we all want different things.
Then again, if they just came up with an opt-out system, that'd probably solve most of the problems on its own.
lostapprentice: (b: okay but what if you did)

[personal profile] lostapprentice 2018-06-07 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
imagine how much more appealing all of this would be if we could decide what changes we wanted. they'd definitely have more people volunteering to help them with whatever problems they're supposedly facing.

It really seems like they should be able to do it, right? I mean, ever since they introduced the mailbox system, people can decide whether or not they want whatever physical object they're sent... physical changes and abilities aren't the same as possessions, but the principle isn't totally different, is it?

that's what i'd assume to some extent. if they can control all the city and our reality and even reconstruct items from destroyed worlds to give to us, why wouldn't they be able to control the others?

but of course they've given no indication they're willing to change what we experience based on what we want. they've already made the decision for us.

[Except for those stupid surveys they've supposedly sent out about which of their fuckups they should fix next. Those don't count.]

I wonder how much they actually control, and how much just kind of happens on its own. Physically transforming back into people we used to be makes its own weird kind of sense, but why would our stuff still be around? I mean, where are they even getting it from?
lostapprentice: (b: lineface)

[personal profile] lostapprentice 2018-06-17 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
supposedly that's a part of their efforts to reconstruct our worlds, since that's what they claim their ultimate goal is.

So they're rebuilding our universes one weird outfit or magic weapon at a time?

...Well, I guess that's no stranger than any of the rest of it.
