Two questions for Beta Squad.
  1. Have you had Retrospec deliver anything to you that didn't feel like it was yours?

  2. Has anyone tried returning things to Retrospec?
For the record, if you received anything that had a tag of Yuri's Angels attached, no, I didn't send it, no, I don't want it, no, I'm not a spy, no, I don't have a fanclub, no, it isn't a freaking religious affiliation and no, I don't have a secret admirer at Retrospec anymore than I have an explanation for why this happened.

Anyone who feels like trying a return lmk.

Edit: Anyone else named Yuri please contact me ASAP, tyvm.

[ Spoiler: James has not actually seen The Matrix. Not in full, anyway. ]

Seriously? How do you even remember all that? Did you just rewatch that movie?

Yeah, well, that sounds like the best way it could've ended. "Life sucks and then you die." It's like, poetic.

"Maybe we're all living in a coded world anyway" can be tragic AND poetic.

Also really, really stupid if it's actually TRUE. There's no way it's real if they're exposing themselves as the matrix or whatever like this so quickly. They'd want to keep it a secret for longer.

Duh, because once we find out we're in their matrix people are gonna try to break it?

Just because we're talking about it doesn't mean it's breaking. I don't see the world turning to 1's and 0's, do you?

If we wanna break it, we gotta take a metal bat to it or something.

Okay so maybe it doesn't show up as code, but it'd show up as something weird. Probably one of those "you'll know it when you see it" type cases.

As for how we do it, I don't know. Just start breaking stuff until you see the matrix fall apart?

...smaller stuff, though, maybe. Just to test it out and make sure first.

It doesn't have to be bats, anything goes so long as it breaks it. My plan so far is to get the crowbar out of our basement and take it to a few trash cans, see what that gets me.

That's the idea.

So, you in or what?

Whoa, whipping out the phone number already? That's gotta be at least digital first base.

I'll text you.

[ And sure enough, a few minutes later, Yuri will receive a text from a new number: ]

I'll ask again then: you in or what?

Okay, good.

[ ...He didn't think this all the way out to actually making a plan for it. ]

So I guess we just break whatever crap around town we can for a week and let each other know if we see the matrix breaking, then.
frostythehitman: (i really need to give these some good ke)

[ Meanwhile, James was BORN READY FOR THIS. ]

Sounds like a plan!

Talk to you in a week, mysterious matrix co-conspirator!
