Has anyone else found themselves falling in love with someone in those memories we all get? That might feel a little extreme, but the face has been sticking with me for a while now.

Both, honestly? The line's gotten really blurry to me in relation to my husband in that previous life.

Ah, okay.

Do you feel like something is making you feel that way, or is it a natural thing> Like... I don't know. I guess you could kind of compare it to a celebrity crush? You see and hear so much about them, but ultimately the odds of actually getting together with them would be next to zero unless you were also super famous, so like. You just admire them from afar.

It's a little more than that, honestly. In my mind, I've lived through that boat ride she took from the mainland to Japan, and all that time they spent together there. I remembered when he proposed to her. I still can feel my heart flutter.

It's an incomplete image, but there was a romance there, one I remember both the events and the emotions of.

To be fair, you did bring it up. :P

[ it feels a bit hollow to use the emoticon there when she's all out of sorts, but it still felt appropriate otherwise. ]

It sounds romantic. If I had more memories like that coming to me I might have to question how I felt as a result, too.

Well I did! I'm just surprised someone else is this wake to ask things like that this late! I almost thought this would be one of those message to the universe things!

But it really was romantic. James was incredibly important to her at every point in her life I've remembered.

That's good that you - or she - had someone like that to be with.

And I'm usually up at 5 am sharp to hit the gym. I just couldn't stay asleep long enough tonight, that's all.

Oh gosh, going to the gym with that little sleep? If you were Satsuki I'd be scolding you for that!

I usually get 8 hours every night.

[ she didn't mean to send the message. she meant to go back and delete it and say literally anything else but well. after recalling again where she knew this woman from (or thought she had) and now realizing Satsuki's told her about their relationship before...

[ she is Satsuki's 87 year old grandmother, yes. Who got magiced (well, Retrsospeced) into the body of a 16-30 (depending on what she's wearing) year old because of a shift in her body a few months ago. And had been getting there before then. But she laughs on her end and responds, ]

You don't need to be sorry for anything, dear, it's fine.

Absolutely nothing I said or did that night was what I'd call "fine".

Well it was a little untoward, but to be honest, the whole memory of it's a bit hazy to me to begin with?

It's the same way for me, too. I could blame the drinks...

And now you know why I stay away from the stuff.

It was also just a stressful time! Everyone else in the city up and vanished, I'm sure we all lost some family for a bit there.

I'm sure others did.

It was pretty scary overall. But we made it through.

We always have so far! With some bumps and bruises, but even so.

And our fair share of foot-in-mouth moments.
Or at least, for me...

I promise you I'm not normally like *that*. I feel like I need to make it up to you in a way that's not "untoward".

It's too late in the night for her to take this too seriously, even with her warped sleep schedule she runs on now. She rocks a little bit in her chair before picking up the phone again, ]

You're already always going to Satsuki's shows anyway, aren't you? That sort of support for the girl does trickle upwards. But if you want to do something for me personally then...

Golly, it's hard to think of something good these days.

I rarely miss a show when she's part of the roster. She's the only reason I go, actually.

Physically.

I think I put on a few years, physically. I'm still getting used to how this body works and what to regulate it with.

I'm glad she has such a fan though!

That's good! I'm guessing you figured out the whole food situation?

I've got some sort of solution! It's not fully settled, honestly, but it's alright.

A lot of people offer that to me when they find out, and I always feel weird about it, like I don't want to hurt them.

That just shows they care.
Or they could be masochists but that's not me. I care.

And I don't want to brag. But I may have a one-up on most people in this field. I can heal from injuries much, much faster now. I can promise I'm clean, too.

[ since she also remembers some of the other things from that night and the way "Yin" behaved and looked. it was a brief "damn girl, you live like this??" moment. it's gone now. ]

I don't doubt it, but I'm not sure you should upsell people to take your blood.

Honestly, I'm still not 100% sure what the taste is based on other than younger people tend to smell worse.
