[ At 9PM on the 1st, all phones or Retrospec-enabled devices will show flickering screens, until a static-filled image appears. It seems to be a security camera shot, in black and white from a high angle, of a simple computer room. Inside is Joanne Wiseman who many of the users may recognize - she looks young, blonde curls loose around her shoulders, and she also looks tired still. A young man who looks only slightly older than her comes in. He's dark-haired with a sweater and glasses, but a white labcoat that matches hers as well. Maurice comes over to stand nearby, watching the screen Joanne is looking at. Neither of them seem to realize they're being recorded. Joanne looks up, and speaks first. ] Did R and D know anything? [ Maurice shakes his head, says: ] No. They can't track them down either - it's almost as if... [ Joanne: ] They have to be somewhere. [ Maurice: ] Jim's trying to figure it out. You know we don't have anyone better at...ah, "creative" solutions? [ Joanne: ] No, I know, just...what if their souls are just, just - [ Maurice: ] I don't think they're gone. I mean - well, they're gone, but I don't think they're gone? You remember August, the one before last. They're, uh, pretty tough? [ Joanne: ] We're usually able to at least try to help them when we can, though! [ Maurice: ] Jo - look, we're doing everything we can. We'll find them. [ Joanne: ] Before they do? [ Maurice: ] Right. I mean...we have to, don't we? [ They both look worried. Before they do was said with a certain inflection - and hey, Retrospec. It looks like the employees have lost track of you for the month. How do you feel about that one? ] As of this post, character usernames are back to being their own names - or rather, characters will be prompted to put in their name as a boot screen loads. Now's your chance to change your preferred name, Retrospecters - but it appears whatever you put in will be locked in as your choice. Hope you didn't put in something ridiculous! Honestly I don't see why the appearance thing is necessary. I've received some changes I really didn't need and even months later I'm still not fully used to them. I don't understand what the point of it is.

it isnt okay so maybe it can be a little cute sometimes but some things are just over the top
the point is causing a hassle?? or maybe they want to turn us into the us we see in those dreams but thats even more over the top

I wouldn't be surprised if they're trying to turn us into our past lives, but surely they've realized that it simply isn't possible for us to be exactly the same people we might have once been.

Anyway, I've received my past life's incredibly stupid haircut, along with his hair color. (It's purple, and it's not any less surreal now.)

It's nowhere near as bad as fangs though, and I do hope you're able to adjust to them quickly!

you cant go to a hairdresser and get that fixed at all?? or maybe cover it with a wig
i hope so too it would be annoying at work if i couldnt get the hang of them

I went to the hairdresser the first day, but by the second it was back to the stupid haircut and color so I just gave up on that. Thankfully, everyone stopped noticing and making comments after a month.

I'd argue there isn't much of a proper way to die, only less gruesome or less painful ways than others. I'm afraid Retrospec is three for three for bringing users back from the beyond.

Your question was limiting. It's an umbrella term to encompass everything I want to achieve. I don't need to be prompted to prioritize how to reach my tangible goals. I know what would mark for my success. Abstract goals are a different matter entirely.

It's nice that you're so optimistic that you think everyone would like to strive for success like it's so easy or natural. That you have the privilege of thinking and talking like that says a lot about you.

Perhaps whoever made us invisible to them has a different way of doing things.

That does seem to be what they're doing, and it hasn't gotten any less annoying even as I've been adapting to all of this!

a bunch of us got lost in unreality, according to retrospec
those of us who were left in the city had to do a bunch of sidequesting to get them back
and there may have been a few near death experiences but who's counting

definitely not yeah its a whole bother when people just want to try to live their lives this whole "remembering your past lives" thing is a bit cliche too and not supposed to happen like this anyway

sort of elongated sort of fuzzy not covered in fur like some people have had or shaped like some recognizable animals ears but just strange

I doubt most of us would be anywhere near this annoyed if they would just attempt to explain themselves and what all they're trying to do, exactly. Instead of putting up pointless updates every month to worry us, they could take the time to write up a summary of what all they hope to get out of this.

youre right it would probably help a lot in the long run but apparently thats way too outrageous to ask for for some reason

yeah a bit people particularly children but adults too really liked pulling at them when they were new too so i dont know if i even feel like stepping foot outdoors for this upcoming month so i dont have to deal wit offapph people reacting to it

I don't blame you! People really can be a pain when they recognize something different and don't understand what that is. Retrospec really has made it such a pain for all of us and I'm still not sure why they expect us just to go along with everything they're doing while they continue to give us no explanations.
