Posting from this network, you'd probably assume I got my job back. Hey users. For those of you who're new, my name is Zee. Sorry to say it, but you've been pulled into the Retrospec project now. Not sure what that is? Get someone else to explain it to you, there're plenty of people who've been around for way longer than deserved.

So…you'd probably assume I got my job back, and I kind of did. I kind of did, but there's a funny little thing about Retrospec and memories. Let me tell you a brief story.

Once upon a time, there were the four founders who came to this planet, founded the city of Recollé and started the Retrospec project. Yeah. Another planet. They're technically aliens, I might technically be an alien, some of YOU might be aliens, it's hard to say. So anyway you have the four founders: Spinnato, Cavendish, Mahoney and Vanderweele. These four created an ideal project to protect life on other planets, offer inhabitants a safe haven to recover from tragic events of their world that were being destroyed (as planets are wont to do) and "regrow" the place you once called home. The problem is that the four of them weren't entirely in agreement on what sort of people should be "worthy" of being saved, or who should be able to become part of the Retrospec project to preserve their souls and recreate what was lost. Souls are a tricky thing. I should know, given I think mine was floating around in the endless abyss for a few months while my body regenerated.

There was such a controversy amongst the founders that one of them, Vanderweele, ended up wiping out an entire family line. There are relatives left from the Spinnato family. Cavendish and Mahoney decided to spearhead the project themselves and sentenced Vanderweele to life in solitary confinement. Once that happened, they began changing how the project was one. They hired some of their own family members. They changed and became the "new" Retrospec.

Vanderweele's not dead though. And as a master of illusion, you can guess where this story is going. I'm not going to do this vague and hiding bullshit that the company's fond of: Vanderweele is out there and meddling with the affairs of this city to overthrow and regain control of the project. All of these weird storms that are happening, the things that mess with your soul? That's Vanderweele's work.

So why am I telling you this?

…Vanderweele got to Retrospec. A lot of you asked if Retrospec knew I was alive again and at the time I didn't know if they did or not, so when I got back to this layer (thank you, by the way. All of you.), I went to headquarters. Everyone inside doesn't even seem to remember that they were working on the project. I don't know WHAT he did, but their memories…everything's scrambled. The entire tech department resigned and I'm not sure if Maurice thinks he's working in a normal mailroom or what. They're almost on the same layer that you guys are before you wake up. Or that's how it seems anyway.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like it's just you and me.

We need to start moving and putting a stop to this to fix everything. I'm not saying you have to. If you want to sit this one out, fine, but I have a feeling most of you want to do something about this. Bring people back to themselves. That kind of thing. You're all pretty stubborn from what I've noticed and that's the good thing.

There are some things I need to check. I'm learning how everything works here and I'm trying to understand all of their notes, not to mention I need to retrieve a few things and wait for a field agent but you'll hear from me soon. I have an idea, but these things take time.

Stick together. Talk to each other. Keep focused.

Oh. I guess also I should mention I moved offices? I'll be staying at headquarters for a while but my remote office is easier to access. Head to the public library, you should be set to get past the scanners on the back of the building and the door will appear for you. I'll be reachable by text, too.

[Al doesn't bother going for her stick, rather he bends his knees a little more to be a smaller target and dodges her strike and responses with a quick counter-attack on her arm]

[She backs off as she's hit, clearly about to lunge ahead again when something has her pause.

...Huh?

[She... well, she sure remembered something.]

When she stopped, Al froze in his tracks.

"Ah ha! It's working!"

Said with glee as he assumes she might have remembered something.

He still has his feet ready to book it just in case she is trying to trick him

S-sort of? I still don't remember how to fight, but...

[Now she looks... confused.]

Was that a fairy? And I was flying, too!

[But then... what happened to the samurai thing?]

A fairy? Okay out of all the possible memories to trigger...I didn't think a fairy would be involved.

and, I assume you are remembering it, not seeing it right now?

Hallucinations happen to the best of us.

[Al was almost surprised at himself, how casually he talked about hallucinations.]

I just remembered, yeah. I was in front of a tree, and I just beat someone in a battle.

But there were a bunch of fairies watching. If I was flying... I think I was one, too?

So...you defeated someone, and faires start to take you?

Sounds like a very magical world you come from, maybe you defended the fairies and they are grateful to you?

I don't suppose you seeing me do fire magic last time we met triggered any magic related memories?

Actually, I was looking around to see who was going to fight me next.

[So. Probably not defending, no.]

I don't remember anything about fire...

If you were going to see who you had to fight next...I don't think the faires would be happy if you were attacking them...

I can also transform, maybe that might help?

The one I fought was surrendering, and the others were cheering. Maybe it was just for sport?

[...She says, as if any of this makes sense at all to begin with.]

Leeeeet's just stick to the sword fighting. I don't know why I remember fairies instead of samurai, but that means we're on the right track, doesn't it?

Maybe, who knows, memories are VERY, random.

Last month I remembered nightmare fuel worthy...

[Al blushes a bit at the next few words but powers through it, he knows he has explaining to do after.]

Pink, bunny wizards...

...Bunny wizards?

[Huh?]

Yep...think about a pink bunny...about knee high, wizard hat, it's face is like the demigorgon from stranger things, shove an giant eyeball in the middle of it.

Now make a million of them of them flying on black cubes, all of them are mad and want to kill you

[Yuuki you're talking to a guy with fire magic, after remembering being a fairy.]

The kind where some guy named zagan can make animals go berserk by singing. I'm assuming zagan is a genie..

There was apparntly a bear involved Too...i don't remember that though.

[Al COULD strike her right now easily enough, and it is tempting. He's not going to do it right this second...but if she doesn't notice he will.]

Yeah, hell I don't even really remember the people I was with that well either, but who knows, maybe I didn't just pay attention to them, one was a fire mage, I don't know what the other two are.

[hinty hint hint]

So there's other mages like that?

[Well, her grip does tighten... because now she's letting her hand drop as she plants her other hand on her hip.]

I've seen a few, one used some science to modify her body in order to create fireballs, another was adorable, the first thing she learned with her fire magic was to juggle them.

[He wonders if she would try to strike him, he is quite fond of these memories, he loves talking magic and some of the adventures he's done, or the things he has seen on the app. He tightens the grip on his stick slightly.]

She just used some science?

[How would you do that... Chemistry isn't really her field.

She really hated it when I called it magic.

Then again, she was trying to kill me so I didn't exactly have a chance to sit down and learn the secret recipe to the Krabby Patty formula.

Sounds like Sci-fi to me, but who is to say that's not her world.

I think she dropped out of the app, so I never got to ask her in detail.
