So here's the thing…

We have a lot of work left to do. Those of you who ventured down below got a taste of what we're looking at and hopefully that means we can make better preparations. I'm working on opening a new portal based on your energy readings and getting it to stabilize itself so you aren't stuck down there longer than you have to be. May take a few days, but I'm hoping to get a map drawn up, too.

How many of you have been out to Magatus? You might wanna compare notes…the influence started spreading even further. It's better to bring everything and everyone out there back to the city where we can put up forcefields and I can monitor from here.

So what am I saying? I need two teams, a rescue team and an exploration team. Take some time to decide, figure out your skills, organize and arm yourselves. Assignments will go out when you're ready, and when I'm ready.

Hitori Togusa As much as we want to tear it all down, any holdings Vanderweele has in Magatus might be the most valuable place to find both evidence and notes if we want to reverse some of what he's done. So, can I recommend a lighter touch?

If we're getting his attention, keeping it away from the city sounds like a good thing to me.

Or, at least, putting him in the situation that if he wants to stop us from wrecking his stuff, he's losing out on the energy he wants to harvest from us. He wants us to stay connected as much as Retrospec did. For now. That's going to change, soon, but I think we're still in that window.

What happens when we exit that window?

One of two things. Either, we've failed to stop Vanderweele enough and he can start harvesting, so he doesn't need us anymore.

Or two, we have wrecked his shit enough that he hits a point of burning everything to the ground and taking us with him.

Neither of those sound all that great to me.

You see my point, though? The third maybe option is that we cut him off from resources hard and fast enough for that second option to come into play.

That reason (among others) is the reason I also want to try to bring back things that we can to help analyze what exactly it is he's doing.

Yeah, Magatus is his territory.

So if we go poking around there, we should be able to find something interesting.

Check my logic on this one. I'm banking on the idea that finding and salvaging some of his stuff rather than just destroying it outright might help us wreck any other setups he has faster, or just undo some of his work.

Is that worth the risk?

By using his own tech against him? I follow, but that is definitely a big risk.

It's really going to depend on what we find though.

Just as a suggestion, we should likely see how light a touch he's willing to use on us. If we go in expecting to be pacifistic or salvage anything and he's expecting to slaughter us all the second we slip up, that's going to be something of a problem. Seeing as I really enjoy not dying and being dead.
