retrospec | (no subject)

So here's the thing…

We have a lot of work left to do. Those of you who ventured down below got a taste of what we're looking at and hopefully that means we can make better preparations. I'm working on opening a new portal based on your energy readings and getting it to stabilize itself so you aren't stuck down there longer than you have to be. May take a few days, but I'm hoping to get a map drawn up, too.

How many of you have been out to Magatus? You might wanna compare notes…the influence started spreading even further. It's better to bring everything and everyone out there back to the city where we can put up forcefields and I can monitor from here.

So what am I saying? I need two teams, a rescue team and an exploration team. Take some time to decide, figure out your skills, organize and arm yourselves. Assignments will go out when you're ready, and when I'm ready.

Magical retrospec illness.

Something affecting the region... like maybe it's just not an issue anymore, like how stuff around here just kind of temporarily breaks?

More like magical Vanderweele illness, if he's really the one behind all the troubles we've been having.

... but it's possible. I remember a lot of strange stuff happening in the other regions that month, too. Respatrum went into the sky, and... there was this witch in Bosuma. She lured people in, took their memories... and if they didn't do what she wanted in three days, she turned them into monsters.

[And boy, he is STILL salty about that goddamn witch. No one got away with doing that to Sakura, or anyone he cared about.]

Regardless, I'm not really looking to find out, otherwise. I've already dealt with enough pain in the sixth layer, and I don't want to repeat that again.

No, definitely not. Especially if Vanderweele's a skilled magic user himself. I wouldn't be surprised if the two of them were connected somehow.

But being careful is probably the best mindset to have in regards to any of this, to be honest. Things have been progressively more unpredictable and dangerous the past few months, no doubt because of the current situation.

How long ago did you get the app?

I got the app when it was super glitchy in February.

I've been trying to catch up on everything, but it's a lot.

... it is a lot. Especially since this seems to have been building up for the past two years already.

I got the app in November 2017 myself, but even then there was a ton of stuff that I missed. From what I've heard, the city had been attacked by monsters that previous August and people were randomly sent to all sorts of different places... but I don't know any more details than that. We're probably lucky we haven't experienced something like that since, but with Vanderweele in control of Retrospec's staff, we can't be too sure.

I tried reading through all the reports, but there was soooo much to go through.

But for now, focusing on dealing with Vanderwheele is probably the way to go, right?
