I'll keep this short and to the point to give you guys time to strategize, catch up, all of that. Congrats on your Magatus missions. Looks like everything's been cleared out as best as we can, but the region's been evacuated thanks to a couple of factors. The new problem is we just added a bunch of people to city limits. I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news: need some people out in Pesgare to do some deepdiving and recovery. It doesn't look like there's anything out there that'll kill you, but I need something from down there to stabilize Recollé itself. Good news: got the subway working. Did you know it was just about coding? That's a little crazy to me and okay, I might have found out on accident, but…whatever was blocking exits from the city was just a false creation. It means getting out of here and checking out the progress outside. The trains will be ready for departure in about a week, I'll get some maps drawn up and everything. I could really use some of you on location scouting. Finally…who knows about machinery? We've got a problem we should probably look into, but keeping track of that eye's a huge pain in the ass. Hello, everyone! Happy April.

Today is my birthday! Normally I'd be 22, but since I've regained my past life's spiritual form, I think I might be a whole lot older than that...
By the way, my eyes are blue now, too. I mean, they have been for a while, but it really got lost in the shuffle with the "no body" thing. It's one of those things where I'm like, "Ah, now no one's going to believe I'm not hafu when I go to Japan," but then it's like, "They won't be able to see me in the first place, so they won't assume anything one way or the other," and also, "What are the odds I'm ever going to be able to go to Japan again, anyway?" (And then also the "What does it matter if they think I'm hafu or not," but that's normal from before)

(btw even the like...... two? of you who've known me for a while wouldn't have known it was my birthday so don't feel weird about it)

I guess Retrospec sent me a present. If anyone's not too busy, would you mind coming to the mailbox with me? lol.... (It's a "gigai" apparently and I don't remember what that is at all but it doesn't sound good)

I'd appreciate it! And yeah, I hope it's as innocuous as that. If I had the actual kanji I could make a guess about what it is, but... there are an awful lot of ways you could theoretically write "gigai"...

Oh, absolutely. Probably even worse when you're not popular, since people might just wave it off and say 'oh, you've got to be joking, right?' and think that saying it's your birthday is a prank...

And yeah, it definitely depends on the kanji. Sometimes Japanese is a huge pain in the ass, but it's still nothing compared to English.

Now, though, my circle of current and potential acquaintances is down to like... a few dozen? However many of us there are on the app... so there's really no harm in it anymore. Hooray (lol)

That's probably true, although tbh, Japanese is a little rougher for me. I can speak it fine, but my writing ability is like, embarrassing. And the newspapers have SO many kanji I start panicking just looking at them

I mean, assuming my memories are real and everything
and that no one ever mistook or deliberately concealed my true age/birthdate back when I was too young to know any better

For example, if she only speaks Polish, I'll probably have a pretty hard time.
But yes, in general, I'm pretty much a ghost and I can talk to ghosts.
