Regardless he knows she'll make her way through the bar and up to his actual apartment because the sandwich is there. He's definitely not bringing it down to the bar itself, but he's also grabbing what looks like a bag of chips and leftover seven-layer-dip he probably stole from his mom's house.]

My money's on him reworking the things to make them more powerful. That's what professors do, right? Experiment. [He wrinkles his nose and pointedly turns away from the sandwich.] I told you it was gross, what were you expecting?

[There's a pause. He remembers that smell, too, but it's not something he wants to admit just yet.]

Was Annabeth with you? [There's no way. There's no way the two memories are connected but he's staring at the sandwich container with distain.] What happened to your leg?

Yeah. She was playing with some weird...toy. And I'm not sure, I hurt it somehow but I don't remember exactly how.

[ probably that's a memory for another time, she figures. ]

[Well...that sounds roughly similar, and the longer he thinks about it the harder it is to ignore. He turns away from both sandwich and Thalia, walking across the apartment to check on the small plant he keeps on a table and just to give himself something to do.]

That was my house in our old life. Pretty sure, anyway, since that was the same house I was arguing with some guy who was supposedly my dad. Gonna guess the cookies are the fault of some woman who was supposedly my mom, too.

...sort of? It's nothing to worry about yet, but whatever happened ended with the three of us leaving my parents behind because my dad was a jerk. At least some things are consistent.

Crappy parents no matter what. [ yay. ] But this was after we were running around burning down buildings or whatever - so why did we go back? Unless just for my leg, I guess.
