For one thing, no secret handshakes or phrases? Not even dramatic meeting locations? The trying rating is about half a star if that. And I'm almost bored to tears with the whole back and forth about what's going on. Not bored enough to give you a cheat sheet, but still. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Characters who have been in game for more than one month will find they can change their profile pictures; newcomers are locked into their first choice. At various points throughout the day users will be sent images of themselves from behind, regardless of where they are. There doesn't seem to be any way to catch whoever might be taking and sending these, however, especially since being alone in a room doesn't seem to be a deterrent.

The internet's a really big place so this doesn't surprise me.

You might be onto something. Everybody keeps saying it and everybody who says it has the app, right? How do we know they aren't tied together? Even that Jim guy said it and he's on the network so it's totally possible. Maybe we could stop all of this if we stopped saying its name.

It's...a pretty stupid idea, but it's an idea that makes more sense than "accept the fact that smiling fruit exists."

We weren't saying it until after we were on the app though.
I mean, I guess it could be some weird ancient demon that draws power from having it's name said and so every time we say it we empower it's magic.
If I believed in demons.
Or magic.

Guess I don't really know what I believe anymore.

I don't know how you'd get everyone to stop though.

What if somebody were to create a totally different app to move everybody on to and ignore this Retrospec thing? Or we just stop opening it? How hard could that be?

When we ignore retrospec too long it gets...demanding.
Locks out your phones and computers, plays loud music, makes shrieking noises...
It's like a four year old sister who wants you to play with her.
