We know his name is Jim because he just posted a message listing his name as "Jim Halloway". You're right, we don't know for sure that's his name,
but it's all we have to go on for now.

You aren't being punked, but you're definitely being played with. Retrospec is an app that automatically downloads itself onto your phone, and seemingly has the ability to hide itself from people who don't have it or aren't aware of it. Its appearance has coincided with a lot of other weird events, like the nature of the world changing,
and people gaining memories and artifacts of another life. It's always people who have Retrospec, too.
