So, apparently Fai Lachance is allergic to chocolate. That is almost the saddest thing I've ever heard.

In other news, I see Retrospec has been handing out yet more guns. If you would like to learn how to properly care for your new firearm, I will be holding a basic gun safety class at Deadeye Shooting Range on Saturday. Just drop in whenever. I'll be there from 10 to 4.

As for what qualifies me to offer this advice, I conduct ballistics tests for the Recolle Crime Lab. So I've taken apart. reassembled, and cleaned quite a few different guns. And fired them. If you want to know how to do that, I can show you that too, but there are better shots than me out there. You don't need to be a good shot to be able to properly take care of a gun though.

Tatsuo Kihara And once again, there is that sense of being a rat in a lab.
Tatsuo Kihara Haha I actually looked into it, and while true chocolate allergies are pretty rare, they do happen. People are more likely to have allergy issues with chocolate for other reasons though. Like they're allergic to milk or nuts or soy.

Kazuhira Miller I figured. It's a pretty believable lie, all in all. Even if it's tragic.
Kazuhira Miller I don't look very Japanese, but sometimes the genes show through. Like when I have too much milk I start feeling sick. I can have it up to a point, but I have to be careful.

Tatsuo Kihara Ah lactose sensitivity, the joys of genetics. Do you flush when you drink or did you manage to dodge that particular trait?

Tatsuo Kihara Lucky. I don't get the full flush, but I do turn a little red.

Tatsuo Kihara We're part of the Kyokumei school, so we teach full-contact karate.

Tatsuo Kihara That's all right. Most people don't realize there are so many different styles of karate.
Tatsuo Kihara What it boils down to is when we spar, we go to the mat. And we use full strength. So expect to collect bruises.

Tatsuo Kihara Yeah the JSDF doesn't exactly do international stuff, right?

Kazuhira Miller It does some. Not a lot. Mostly in material support for it's UN allies.
Kazuhira Miller They do a considerable amount of police work, including providing backup for civil disturbances.

Tatsuo Kihara Then maybe he got sent to the jungle because of a UN ally?

Kazuhira Miller Only in that I can't stop thinking about him. Now that he's in there, it's like he's a focus.

Tatsuo Kihara I kind of know what you mean. There's this one guy other-me thinks of as his 'partner,' though I haven't figured out how they're connected yet.

Maybe it's something like that with your eyepatch guy. It sounds like he's someone important to your other self.
