Thank you, Janet Halloway Human Resources Retrspec Incorporated As of this post, the city has completely returned to normal; damage has been fixed, monsters are gone, and NPCs now believe that monsters are definitely not normal but don't seem to remember them having been a thing. Oops? All weapons and powers gained in their various locations / as QR codes are now gone, additionally. Group 1 locations can no longer be accessed. Retrospec NPCs will not be reachable past this point! As mentioned to various members of group one, the Director does not approve of Retrospec's team speaking with its users, so NPC interaction will drop back down to what it originally was at this time. Doing research for these people will also net zero results. City-based NPCs will now remember members of group two! They will simply be under the belief that group two members were on vacation/had a family emergency/etc. No consequences will come from them being away at their jobs or school or anything else! Furthermore: -Horses are now regarded as valid mythological creatures! So you get mildly less strange looks for talking about them. -Photographs and text, online and off, now have the color blue again! -Visual video media (online, in theaters, etc) now has the color green once again! This does not include text yet. -There has been a new list of karaoke songs added to the city of Recollé! These songs can now be found in karaoke bars and machines all across the city and even can be sold on CDs for your own karaoke parties. -The Crow's Nest now has locations across the world, including a brand new location right in the heart of Recollé! After August's plot wraps up, be sure to grab a bite to eat and say hi to Kenny Crow. -Finally, the ocean has been restored! It's still gray, however. Keep working together to buy back world changes. Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

At least one of its employees isn't even from Earth. She said something about how she's from some world that couldn't be saved.

...Okay. Retrospec can pull people from other realities. That's new.

You find out anything else useful?

Not really. Just that some of the people who work for them are apparently pulled from these alternate, dead worlds.

Huh. So some of them are pulled from dead worlds, while others have relations to the founders, and others are there because of family business...

I just want to know what their criteria is, tbh.

It doesn't seem like there's much in the way of answers.

I still don't really know what they mean by worlds that "couldn't be saved" to be honest. The lady who told us didn't exactly elaborate.

Even with all of this unreality business, they're not going to want to answer anything.

Did I ever tell you what my team learned about the Founders?

Well, we got names.

Clarence Vanderweele, Georgia Mahoney, Phillip Spinnato, and Myrtle Cavendish.

All of them except Clarence were fighting against unreality, apparently, and at least two of them have descendants working at Retrospec.

That would tie into what we learned, then. That most of the strangeness going on is the result of unreality. Though why Retrospec is being so coy about something that looks like bad news is beyond me.

Mahoney, though? We met an "M. Mahoney." She must be the descendant.

Also, we had a Retrospec employee named Nigel Cavendish with our group. He seemed like one of the more decent members of the company, if a little absentminded.

At least there's one decent person in the company.

Even Wendy, the lady who said she's from a different world, was kind of weird.

I mean, Maurice seems like a good kid too, from what I've heard about him.

But... Wendy? Was she the one from the "world that couldn't be saved"?

Yeah, she said when she dies, her entire world will be "null and void." Apparently there's a book of the dead that Retrospec has, an entire list of the worlds that couldn't be saved.

From what, I couldn't tell you, but I get the feeling it has to do with this unreality nonsense.

Yeah. Cavendish told one of my teammates that stuff like what happened has destroyed "other places" before. So, I guess powerful unreality storms are able to consume worlds, judging by that.

It's a good thing this was able to be fended off.

Yeah, I agree.

It sure puts some of the past things that have happened around here in a new light.

For one thing, Retrospec weren't the ones who took horses and the colors. That was unreality's doing. They've actually been trying to fix that.

Makes you wonder what's really going on behind all their shady cover ups. How much of it is actually as bad as we think, and how much of it is our own perceptions? Not to excuse them fully, though.

I guess this is why Jim was banned from talking to us; he was being a smug jackass when Retrospec is trying to keep the world from collapsing in on itself.

Makes you wonder how the hell they figured out this was a thing in the first place.

Judging by what I learned, the Founders of Recolle themselves were fighting unreality.

Maybe the knowledge of it got passed down.

You think maybe they were from other worlds originally, too?

What, the Founders?

...It's possible. I never thought of that before.

Maybe they were.

Hell, I'm starting to get the feeling I might be from another world. Or at least, with the memories I'm getting, it sure as hell looks like some past incarnation of me was.

If we're from the same place, maybe I should draw you a map and see if it triggers anything. It probably won't be completely accurate, but I want to test something.
