Hello Users,

Please be advised that the temporal-spatial storm has now passed. Temporary access levels have been revoked. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please also be advised that as the storm has passed, work has resumed on certain other issues.

You have my sincere thanks for your assistance.

Thank you,

Janet Halloway

As of this post, the city has completely returned to normal; damage has been fixed, monsters are gone, and NPCs now believe that monsters are definitely not normal but don't seem to remember them having been a thing. Oops? All weapons and powers gained in their various locations / as QR codes are now gone, additionally. Group 1 locations can no longer be accessed.

Retrospec NPCs will not be reachable past this point! As mentioned to various members of group one, the Director does not approve of Retrospec's team speaking with its users, so NPC interaction will drop back down to what it originally was at this time. Doing research for these people will also net zero results.

City-based NPCs will now remember members of group two! They will simply be under the belief that group two members were on vacation/had a family emergency/etc. No consequences will come from them being away at their jobs or school or anything else!

Furthermore:

-Horses are now regarded as valid mythological creatures! So you get mildly less strange looks for talking about them.
-Photographs and text, online and off, now have the color blue again!
-Visual video media (online, in theaters, etc) now has the color green once again! This does not include text yet.
-There has been a new list of karaoke songs added to the city of Recollé! These songs can now be found in karaoke bars and machines all across the city and even can be sold on CDs for your own karaoke parties.
-The Crow's Nest now has locations across the world, including a brand new location right in the heart of Recollé! After August's plot wraps up, be sure to grab a bite to eat and say hi to Kenny Crow.
-Finally, the ocean has been restored! It's still gray, however. Keep working together to buy back world changes.

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

At this point I'm seriously contemplating putting an air mattress on my roof and sleeping under the open sky.

Much obliged; we've been cooped up for what feels like ages.

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-08-27 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
You'd prefer to sleep on the roof than to have one over your head?

Where were you stranded?
doitrockapella: (HURT ❖ it's cool it's only a flesh wound)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-08-27 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
We spent the better part of a week locked in a doctor's office and its attached waiting room. From there we went to some sort of enclosed laboratory, and from there we were jettisoned into outer space.

The last thing I want right now is a roof over my head and walls all around me.

[You know what... He won't even question that. After everything he's seen, and the oddities that his own group had to undergo, Ardyn just accepts it as truth and leaves it at that.]

From utter confinement, to the vast, endless expanse of space. I can see why something in-between would be preferable to you.

Were there monsters in space?
doitrockapella: (VAN GOGH ❖ more like van gone amirite)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-08-28 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
There was a sphinx. She set us to exploring a set of six biomes in pursuit of the missing pieces of some sort of spacecraft, and once they were reassembled, that's what we used to get home.

[...]

But there was something out there. Something in another ship, that tried to keep us from getting back.

[That sounds very ominous indeed. His question is therefore simple enough.]

What was it?
doitrockapella: (LOOK ❖ god lee stop being such a tool)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-08-28 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure, exactly. An alien? Another monster? One of these denizens of unreality, or whatever they're being called?

It wasn't about to let us get home without a fight, I know that much.

There's something particularly eerie about having to deal with the unknown in /space/; what was it, I wonder? A cosmic horror? How very Lovecraftian.

Was there a thrilling space battle to be had? Or did were you fortunate enough to avoid violence altogether?
doitrockapella: (BOW ❖ holy shit was that an honorific)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-08-29 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll let the kids be the ones to spin out the thrilling tales of daring and adventure. They did most of the work; the credit and the glory is theirs.

Try Emil Västerström, for more of the details. I imagine he'll tell you a better story than Dave Strider, who I'm sure would be able to tell you the whole thing but wouldn't be able to resist injecting the narrative with bizarre color commentary along the way.

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-08-30 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you don't give yourself enough credit. Did you not participate in any of this daring and adventure merely by being part of the team?

But the names are duly noted. I'll not put that burden on you, when I'm sure this is the last thing you wish to speak about right now.
doitrockapella: (WIND ❖ surely there are aliems about)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-08-30 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The variety of battles I prefer to be a part of tend to involve wits, not fists.

Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of the former to be had, these past few weeks — and altogether far too many of the latter.

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-09-01 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
One is just as important as the other. I'm certain of this, given that I had to participate in both. My team was fortunate enough to be given an idea of what to expect. One poor group was sent into what can only be described as riddle hell.

But that's all in the past. Let's not linger on it. When we're more mentally able, we should share any new memories we've experienced. Those are always entertaining.
doitrockapella: (DEADPAN ❖ would you like a hint)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-09-02 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
I remembered having the same birthday as someone else. Exciting, isn't it?
daemonized: (85)

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-09-05 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Who am I to judge whether or not this is exciting or not? There is, in fact, something very refreshing in the simplicity of it.

Whose birthday?
doitrockapella: (SOAKED ❖ let's go jump in puddles)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-09-05 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure. A young man in a leather jacket, standing in the rain — and we were the same, that way, but I haven't the slightest idea why that would be significant at all.
daemonized: (70)

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-09-06 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
One way or another, it must be important. There have been no instances in my experience where these memories are completely superfluous.
doitrockapella: (PASSPORT ❖ which way to the casbah)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-09-06 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It's strange. He's one of a handful of people I remember, but for some reason I...

Hm. It's as though I'm fond of him, but at the same time I'm not.

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-09-08 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
That sort of relationship could be any number of things.

Family member, perhaps?
doitrockapella: (GRIMACE ❖ tim gunn would not approve)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-09-08 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh.

[SHE RESPONDS, IMMEDIATELY, IMPULSIVELY, AND IN A MOMENT OF UTTER LACK OF FIGURATIVE BRAIN TO MOUTH (THUMBS?) FILTER.]
daemonized: (10)

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-09-10 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, that's a thing.]

No?
doitrockapella: (POINT ❖ what's yours will soon be mine)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-09-10 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
...A family member with the same birthdate? That would imply that we were twins, wouldn't it?
daemonized: (103)

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-09-11 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Well, is that so impossible? Twins /are/ known to happen on occasion.
doitrockapella: (LOOK ❖ god lee stop being such a tool)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-09-11 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I've always been an only child. I'm not entirely sure what I would do with a twin. Would I have competed with him...?

...Maybe I did. Really the only impression I seem to keep coming away with is, whatever we were to each other, it was something complicated.
daemonized: (146)

[personal profile] daemonized 2017-09-12 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps you did. It's difficult to say now, isn't it? Without the full story at our disposal, it could be your twin. Or it could be someone else completely unrelated.

Frustrating, isn't it? Not knowing all the clues that would unravel the mystery.
doitrockapella: (DEADPAN ❖ would you like a hint)

[personal profile] doitrockapella 2017-09-12 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Frustrating — and motivating. Now I just want to see the mystery solved all the more.
