Welcome to Retrospec™, the last social media network you will ever need. You are one of the few selected to test this exciting new platform based on our cutting-edge algorithms. Less than two hundred invitations have gone out, and membership is not currently open to the public. However, we hope you will come to see how useful Retrospec™ is, given time. We have for your use a variety of features such as text, voice, video, and image posts. We encourage you to explore our many options.

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. As a reminder, everything besides uploading a profile picture and information was locked until this post. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Oddly, profile pictures still cannot be swapped out at this time, so hopefully you took a good one.

This post is an overflow from the original post here. Feel free to either carry over threads from there or create entirely new ones.

Yang | ... Yin?

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-02 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very weird. Is it tracking us, somehow? No, that can't be it.
I just called the office - it doesn't appear to be on our work computer, so at least that's good. I'd have to worry about a breach of sensitive information if it was.
It's not your name on your internet account AND phone bill is it? Or is it?

[Only because Sakuya isn't there at the moment, of course, it won't show up on her work computer.]

all that stuff is under my dads name
his name even shows up on caller id when i call people from my cell

if it could track us i think my friend would have said something
im turning on location stuff just in case

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-02 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
That's probably the smartest idea.

It wouldn't have your name all over it if it was trying to get your dad's, though. The more I hear about it, the less I like the idea but... I'm also curious. Still, be careful what kind of information you share.

At the risk of sounding my age.

I wonder... if they are specifically trying to track us somehow, if we can't have a little fun with that?

Take pictures from strange and obscure locations?

Well, if they're spying on us, why not make their jobs difficult?

Ryoga

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-02 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Sauya Haibara Well, they are living things, even if not creatures.
Sakuya Haibara You can't just leave them and forget entirely, there is some maintenance required.
Sakuya Haibara But, onions, carrots, and peas are all very hardy vegetables that don't require a lot of upkeep like, say, tomatoes, so they're pretty easy to grow, even if you're not an expert.
momentaryspring: (Ryoga: glare)

[personal profile] momentaryspring 2017-02-02 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ryoga Hibiki The thing is there are times when I'm just not home very often. If I was by once or twice a week, would that be sufficient? It would help if I didn't have to buy them at the supermarket.
blooming_resonance: (001)

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-03 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Sakuya Haibara Ah, I see. Well, onions do require a decent amount of water, but they recover well from a lack of it, so going a few days without water shouldn't truly kill them.
Sakuya Haibara Peas need almost no real care aside from ensuring water supply.
Sakuya Haibara If you set carrots up, you can allow them to grow through some of the cold and that'll take care of most weed issues, but they do require a bit of pre-work, and fertilizing after they're growing.
Sakuya Haibara I think it's doable if you're out often, however.

[personal profile] momentaryspring 2017-02-03 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Ryoga Hibiki I can assure you that I will be EXTREMELY CONSCIENTIOUS.
Ryoga Hibiki When present. I have a dog, but I'm sure she won't chew up the plants.
blooming_resonance: (Default)

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-03 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sakuya Haibara Well, I'm not worried too much. Plants are just plants - it's not like having a living animal.
Sakuya Haibara If they die, it's just a lesson as to what to do next time.
Sakuya Haibara Still, I think if you could set up some kind of automatic watering system, it'd be for the best. Otherwise, some fertilizer and a little attention should be all they need.
momentaryspring: (Ryoga: shove off saotome)

[personal profile] momentaryspring 2017-02-03 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ryoga Hibiki I don't know if I could afford anything like that... I'm working on a student's budget, after all. But I would rather that my plants not die in any case. They should be extra handy for making a quick meal at home. Maybe a stir fry.
blooming_resonance: (001)

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-03 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Sakuya Haibara That would make things a little more complicated, yes.
Sakuya Haibara They have those... watering bulb things? If that's also not outside your budget.
Sakuya Haibara Otherwise, I'm not sure what alternatives there are. Google may know.
Sakuya Haibara Of course, it'll be a few months before the vegetables will grow enough to be edible, but it's worth the wait.

[personal profile] momentaryspring 2017-02-03 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Ryoga Hibiki That's fine. I've gotten along this far without them. Do you do a lot of home gardening?

Ryoji Mochizuki ohh i didn't know that about carrots and peas!
Ryoji Mochizuki can they grow indoors? in a window box?
Ryoji Mochizuki i don't have enough yard for an actual garden
blooming_resonance: (Default)

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-03 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Sakuya Haibara Peas are very low-maintenance and hardy, I definitely recommend growing your own.
Sakuya Haibara They say carrots taste better if you let them sit through a frost or two, too.
Sakuya Haibara The only thing about carrots is that they need deep, loose soil. You'd have to get a pretty hefty window box for them. Onions and peas should be fine.

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-02-03 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ryoji Mochizuki hmmmm i feel like i'd be too impatient to wait that long for carrots
Ryoji Mochizuki and onions make me cry, so i think i'll try the peas!
Ryoji Mochizuki can i plant them straight from the bag i get from the groceries?
Ryoji Mochizuki or are these questions for a gardening center?
blooming_resonance: (Default)

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-03 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Sakuya Haibara The growing time isn't very long, but they do require some care.
Sakuya Haibara Onions just have to be spaced out a bit - you wouldn't be able to get a lot of onions out of a window box.
Sakuya Haibara I'm just a hobbyist, but I'd recommend getting the seeds in a package. You don't really know how long the peas you eat have been sitting around or if something else happened to them in transit. The packages are made for planting.

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-02-03 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Ryoji Mochizuki mmmm okay! i guess i'll look into growing them from seeds
Ryoji Mochizuki you know a lot for "just a hobbyist" though! how'd you get into gardening?
Ryoji Mochizuki usually i think of gardening for flowers, not food

Sakuya Haibara I like to grow my own vegetables - saves on costs at the store, too
Sakuya Haibara I'm sure a quick google search would be able to tell you more specifically for your circumstances. I have an actual garden plot I use and a greenhouse, but I know what the instruction packages say, and it's a little common sense application from there.
Sakuya Haibara I haven't done much with window boxes aside from some decorative flowers like pansies.
Sakuya Haibara But I like working to watch things grow, aside from the cost-saving benefit.
Sakuya Haibara Gives you something to do for a bit that doesn't require constant attention, but enough to burn some spare time.

[personal profile] appraiser 2017-02-03 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Ryoji Mochizuki lol i'm guilty of eating out too much, so this'll be good for me too
Ryoji Mochizuki a greenhouse sounds nice... especially in the winter! warm and full of life
Ryoji Mochizuki one day i'll work my way up there!
Ryoji Mochizuki a real garden! with gnomes!!

[personal profile] blooming_resonance 2017-02-03 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Sakuya Haibara Besides, food you grow yourself always seems to taste better, you can trust me on that.
Sakuya Haibara It's small, but very convenient to have. I'm glad I sprung the extra money for it when I bought my house.
Sakuya Haibara I don't have any gnomes, though. Should I? I need interesting ones, if I'm going to have any.
