[ It's ass at night and Elda Marker, made more awake by the fact she keeps finding herself waking up later and later especially on weekends when her son doesn't have school is wide awake. As such, she makes her own variation on one of those cerebral posts a friend of hers makes sometimes: ]

So what's something you've wanted to tell someone, but haven't? Or something you absolutely don't want to tell someone? Or have been fretting about? I'm no qualified therapist, but I am older than many of the people on this app, so maybe I can help. Even if I can't, I can hear it out.

I'll make mine public: The woman in my memories survived an attempt to exterminate her race, and I have no idea how to begin to handle that memory. I've tried to ignore it for months.

Mine's related to Retrospec stuff, but it doesn't have to be obviously.

[ Oh good, the light level on her end is a lot more comfortable than what he usually see these days so he relaxes a little more. ]

They aren't even before all this. [ He got those jokes a lot in high school, especially once he went over to the goth side and started dressing up to the ideal. ] He was in theater so he would probably go with the cheesy accent and cape flapping.

[ Tapping a finger on her cheek and... ]

... No, actually I guess I have.

I suppose there were times when a cape is a smart accessory?

[ He wiggles his toes and rests his chin on his knees. ]

I know there was a time in my circle they were hot items. I preferred the corsets; capes caught on too many things.

The one I've got the memories of doesn't do capes, but her son has in some of the memories I've got, thinking on it more.

[ . . . ] I guess they'd block out the sun?

Mm, I could see that.

I'm not sure if that was anything I worried about. I don't even know if he moved around much in the sunlight.

She never did either but...

[ There's a hesitation here before she exhales and, ]

... There's a granddaughter of hers who does. She can move freely in the sun. I suppose Henry needed to be ready to help her.

Her granddaughter..?

[ He exhales slowly and tilts his head to the side, eyes closing. ]

I don't know if there are others like him. He has friends though. A dragon guy and a couple of others I don't know much about. But they were able to create swords out of fire.

Well, that's intense.

[ Dully, she blinks. ]

But yeah, she's got a whole family.

It was an intense time. I think they were chasing something? Or fighting?

[ Shrugging and he chewed on his lip before realizing, ah yes, sharp teeth. ]

Ow? Must have been nice.

- You didn't cut yourself, did you?

[ She snaps that, looking with a lean in of concern on the camera oops ]

I think so..?

[ And he touches his lip which does have a small cut on it now and makes a little pouty face before pulling his sweater's neck up in an attempt to hide. ]

Should you go wash that out or is it not bleeding too much?

It should be fine. I don't think it's bleeding too much.

[ He's going to die; just watch his face turn red from his silliness. ]

You're going to stain your shirt like that.

[ Just saying. ]

Not really. I know how to get bloodstains out of most shirts.

The hazards of working in a kitchen is being around sharp objects and getting into accidents.

[ She itches her cheek a little. Hahha... yeah. ]

Were you thinking of something else?

[ His tone might be a little innocent, but he is smiling, just a tiny bit. He could guess what she might think. ]

- You didn't seem the sort to get in fights, so I was surprised! That's all!

I don't really like fighting, but I do like sports. I took up boxing and mixed martial arts to keep fit.

So you're right. I'm not the type.

Is mma that different than fighting?

[lesinset]

I guess it's the same thing? I just do it for the workout.

I mean, you just hear about it being pretty intense usually is all

Yeah, it is that. I'm better at boxing really. I just got in mma because of my friend needing a sparring partner.
