You know, I think some April Fool's pranks are okay! Like the silly ones they do on websites or the really good natured kind. But I am LESS okay with someone changing the ENTIRE layout of our entire building and giving us treasure maps to go around it which for the record my brother-in-law did and it's a pain!! There's some weird effects coming in from outside this planet at the moment, although they'll mostly miss the city itself. There'll be a localized temporal storm, but it shouldn't be more than a mild irritation. It looks like it's just going to yank some things around and send them on through. I think Maurice is going to call out sick that day, or if I were him I definitely would. Hey, I kind of want a four-leaf clover. I know that's more last month than this month, but still. If you find one, pass it along. Also, I want to do a cutesy April Fools thing, so don't get too mad! It will certainly benefit you. My parents had me learn Japanese in the first place because we have a lot of business partners in Japan. The first step in getting more proficient in a language is to speak it. You'll learn in no time with me teaching you.

But you guys went to Japan a lot, didn't you? Mother had taken us there a few times, but never really long enough to excuse teaching me the language. She though English was much more beneficial. [Though given that they were in Hong Kong and it was EVERYWHERE, it was pretty much a no-brainer.] She'd probably be pleased if she found out I picked it up, though. I could probably say you were giving me lessons so it wouldn't come as too much of a surprise to her.

We did, yes. Though, I can understand your mother's reasoning. English is a bit more beneficial and it might be confusing if she made you learn those two languages at the same time. If we can please her the next time we talk to her, then that makes it even more worth it.

She didn't exactly tell me, but... she said something in it. And Cantonese isn't something she'd pick up out of the blue.

But given how perceptive Leon could be about things, it didn't surprise him that he picked up on it. And given that Xiaolang's pretty much been shut in his room since they got back from the party...

Upon reading the next message, he's surprised by what he sees. Of course he figured the moment that Xiaolang switched over to Cantonese, it had to be something serious that he didn't want others hearing.

... Now things were beginning to make sense. He was wondering why he had locked himself in his room ever since the party. He figured that he was either really focused on his homework, or something serious was going on. Unfortunately, his gut instinct was telling him it was the latter and looks like he was right. ]
