Actually, no. We've been made to defend the city before; it's entirely possible that we'll be left on our own again at some point while Retrospec gets itself back in order. The fact of the matter has always been that we can't rely on them.

Should you choose to do nothing in response to this, that's your decision. There's no shame in preparing for yourself only. But some of us are going to have different priorities.
