[Pretend it's a picture of the uniform laid out on the bed] I recently got this in the maibox. It's my other self's school uniform. For those who don't know, he went to a wizarding school in the UK. The green represents the house his was in (it's like a dorm for you non-Brits). His house was called Slytherin, which usually has students in it who were ambitious and cunning. It doesn't really fit though. I can put the robe on and that's about it. But considering this was probably his uniform when he was around 16 or so, it makes sense. Thoughts? Opinions?

Yes, it's a snake. On the school crest there are four animals, a Lion, snake, badger, and a bird of some sort. I'm guessing that each House has an animal assigned to it, but I don't know which houses. By reasonable deduction, Slytherin must be the snake. And well, Salazar Slytherin, the person the house is named after and a founder of the school, could talk to snakes.

NO! Talking to snakes is not really a good thing... sorta...

Like, one of the founders of the school could talk to snakes, Salazar Slytherin. Remember when I told you about the Chamber of Secrets? Apparently his HEIR is suppose to open it and "unleash the horror within." His "true" heir is suppose to be able to speak the snakes. Plus, someone that went by the name "The Dark Lord" could apparently talk to snakes. And that Harry Potter I keep seeing in my memories could talk to snakes. So... no, I don't think it would be ideal if I could talk to snakes.

I don't think so actually. Draco was once talking to his friends and he seemed pretty convinced it wasn't Potter that was the heir. Though he didn't know who it was in general.

Huh. That's a pretty big grudge for this Salazar guy to hold. ' Unleash the horror within '? Dramatic much?

Well, I think it is some ancient tale so... yeah. Drama is part of the package.

I think so. Draco was talking about hit with his two "friends" in one memory. It happened with he was 12. Then apparently 50 years before that, it was unleashed too, and a girl died.

The hell kind of school did he go to??? Where were the adults when all this was going on? You'd think they'd notice some chamber horror going about attacking students.

Well, Draco didn't seem to worried about it for some reason. And his dad told him to keep his head down. So something was totally up.

I have a feeling his dad was involved in some not so great stuff.

Well, I'm pretty sure his dad took him to a shop that sells dark magical objects. Plus, in his house, his dad keeps "Dark Arts" stuff in a secret chamber under the drawing-room floor.

Well, he did watch the Quidditch World cup with his parents too when he was about 14. There were some, less questionable moments of bonding.

World Cup? Is Quidditch some sort of sport?

[blondferret]

Yes, it is a sport played on broomsticks. There are seven players on each team and there are four balls. At each end of the stadium are three hoops. The Keeper defends the hoops. The three Chasers toss a red ball, called the Quaffle, around and tries to get the Quaffle into the opponents hops. Each goal is 10 points. The Quaffle is about the size of a football.

Then there are two beaters. They each hold a small bat and they use them to hit the Bludgers, these cast iron balls that fly around and knock players off their brooms.

The last player is the seeker. Which is what Draco was. Their job is to find this gold walnut sized ball with wings called the Snitch. When the seeker catches the snitch, the game is over and the seekers team gets 150 points. So the seeker has to catch the snitch at the right time because if they catch it too early, they could still loose the game if the points on the other team is still more than theirs.

That is the most convoluted sport I've ever heard of. How do they not all break their necks?

IDK! I've only remembered like... two games and one of them was the world cup. And like... I don't think there were many reserve players... not that I saw a bench of anyone to sit on like in soccer.

Well. At least they have a World Cup. What countries were playing in the game you saw?

Ireland vs. Bulgaria. Bulgaria caught the snitch but Ireland won.

Wait. So if Bulgaria caught the snitch but still lost... then Ireland must have had... what... at least 160 points?

[blondferret]

Ireland was ahead of Bulgaria by at least 160 points before Krum (that's the seeker) caught the snitch. I can't remember the exact score off the top of my head. But there was definitely scoring going on during the game.
