[Pretend it's a picture of the uniform laid out on the bed] I recently got this in the maibox. It's my other self's school uniform. For those who don't know, he went to a wizarding school in the UK. The green represents the house his was in (it's like a dorm for you non-Brits). His house was called Slytherin, which usually has students in it who were ambitious and cunning. It doesn't really fit though. I can put the robe on and that's about it. But considering this was probably his uniform when he was around 16 or so, it makes sense. Thoughts? Opinions?

What exactly does one do at a wizarding school, through morbid curiosity?

Yes, he was a wizard. And we learned magic and a wizarding school. Obviously.

Actually, no. There is this talking witch hat, called the Sorting Hat, and each student puts on when they first get to the school. And ranging from a few seconds to a few minute the hat blurts out what house they belong to.

It sounds a little ridiculous but... magic school.

Obviously. It would be something of a disappointment to attend wizarding school for calculus, I'd imagine.

I suppose a more direct question, seeing as you evidently prefer those, is what sort of magic we're referring to. I imagine there's a difference between alchemy and divination, for example, and further still between those things and what laypeople would think of as magic spells. Did you just study a bit of everything, or was it specialized?

So they students were all color coded? We'd do that in Japan, but usually only for field day. Red Team vs Blue Team.

Is that a snake on the crest?

He took a lot of classes:
Defense Against the Dark Arts
Transfiguration
Charms
Potions
Care of Magical Creatures
History of Magic
The study of magical plants
Magic Theory

There might have been other classes, but I wouldn't know. I've only received a handful of classroom memories.

I see. Magic is completely unheard of in my past life, so to have an entire educational establishment dedicated to it is...interesting to me, I suppose.

Well, it's better than being put into Griffindor. That's were all the "courageous" students went. My other self did not seem to get along with any of them.

but if you mean courageous in that they were full of emsleves for their good bravery,
then yeah, that sounds annoying.

It would be more interesting if the teachers were more competent. There was one teacher who released a cage full of Cornish pixies on his students.

Yes, it's a snake. On the school crest there are four animals, a Lion, snake, badger, and a bird of some sort. I'm guessing that each House has an animal assigned to it, but I don't know which houses. By reasonable deduction, Slytherin must be the snake. And well, Salazar Slytherin, the person the house is named after and a founder of the school, could talk to snakes.

Again, some people took a few minutes. Though it barely touched Draco's head and it blurted out his house.

Well, what else would they use the hat for?

It would obviously be the latter. We're talking about a bunch of students ranging between the ages of 11-17.

Like I said, incompetent teacher. He taught defense against the dark arts.

Now, if you wanted to talk REALLY incompetent teacher, the one for Care of Magical Creatures was exceptionally bad. He had his students interact with fully grown hippogriffs and my other self got attacked. Got his arm cut open by its claw.

I didn't think humans were so simple that we could be deciphered in only a few minutes.

But then again, I'm also not a magical mind-reading hat.

If I were, though, I definitely wouldn't be throwing my powers away on something as trivial as that. I would be saving it to help myself get ahead in life wherever I could... or even just to amuse myself.

Has anyone in your other self's life tried to steal this hat before?
